The recent Eagles Schoolboys Cup Grand Final presented an exciting opportunity for both competing schools.
For Comet Bay College, it was the chance to create history and win their third consecutive grand final. For Mazenod College, the opportunity to avenge last year’s grand final defeat at the hands of Comet Bay and claim their first title since 2001.
In the 33rd year of the competition, over 150 teams and 4,000 lower school students from across Western Australia competed in a quality competition that represents a significant partnership between West Australian Football Commission and the West Coast Eagles.
In what was a very tight contest for three quarters, a 5 goal to nothing last quarter by Comet Bay saw them win their third consecutive grand final proving too strong for Mazenod College, running out victors by 39 points.
