Across Australia, more and more girls are playing football at every level. Whether coming to play for the first time, or aspiring to be the next gen of AFLW, all levels of ability are catered for across our competitions.
Perth now has junior, youth, women's and talent competitions right across the metro area, with more clubs starting girls teams every season. Be sure to keep an eye out at your local club to see if there are any girls' teams starting up in 2020.

NAB AFL Auskick
Girls can learn the basics of Australian Football at any school-based or community NAB AFL Auskick centre. Many centres run girls only groups and some communities also have dedicated all girls’ centres.

Junior Girls
The next step from NAB AFL Auskick is Junior Football.Girls and boys can play together in mixed teams or girls may choose to play in dedicated Junior Girls teams that are aligned to community club.

Youth Girls
Teen girls can continue playing football in Youth Girls. There are a range of competitions available to suit all levels of skill and aspiration. Girls above the age of 14 are required to play in single gender teams.

NINES
A fast, fun, free-flowing game that involves 9 players on each team playing on a smaller field. Best of all AFL9s is‘social non contact’ with no tackling or bumping, making it suitable for everyone.
