Ryan Cook to become longest serving South Fremantle captain

Wednesday, July 20, 2016 - 1:14 PM - by Chris Pike
SOUTH FREMANTLE'S Ryan Cook will become the Bulldogs' longest ever serving captain this Thursday night against Subiaco but what he wants more than anything is to get some form back to build towards his team's first finals appearance since 2011. Cook will captain South Fremantle for an 86th time this Thursday night against Subiaco at Medibank Stadium that will see him surpass the current captaincy record at the Bulldogs he shares with 1997 premiership co-captain Peter Worsfold. Considering South Fremantle has been captained by the likes of Clive Lewington, Steve Marsh, Frank Treasure, John Todd, Hassa Mann, Brian Ciccotosto, Noel Carter, Brad Collard, Marty Atkins, David Gault and Toby McGrath, it's quite an achievement for Cook to not have been captain for the most number of games. Monaghan mindful that Falcons form guarantees nothing in derby

Friday, July 15, 2016 - 3:47 PM - by Chris Pike
WEST Perth coach Bill Monaghan knows that his team's outstanding form winning nine of the last 10 games won't guarantee the Falcons anything heading into a crucial derby with East Perth at Medibank Stadium on Saturday. The Falcons struggled to start the season winning just one of the opening five matches, including a 60-point loss to East Perth in Round 5, but some players returning and form of others turning around has seen things dramatically improve for the 2013 premiers and last year's grand finalists. Midfielders Shane Nelson and Dean Munns might play significantly different roles, but both have been equally important in West Perth now winning nine of its last 10 games. Read More ...
