Guns N' Roses coming to Domain Stadium

Kolbe go back to back in Freo Dockers Cup

The Freo Dockers Schoolgirls Cup competition came to an exciting close at Domain Stadium with two of the powerhouses in schoolgirls football in Kolbe Catholic College and St Mary’s Anglican Girls’ School squaring off against each other in the Moore Division Grand Final. Played as the curtain raiser to the Fremantle Dockersvs West Coast Eagles AFL game, the grand final was played at a frantic pace with a high level of skill that thrilled the large crowd. In what proved to be a terrific promotion for schoolgirls’ football, Kolbe held on over a fast finishing St Mary’s AGS to claim back to back Moore division titles by five points. Read More ...


Round 21 McDonald's WAFL Wrap Up

THE top three WAFL teams all won on Saturday as part of Round 21 of the 2016 McDonald's WAFL Premiership Season while East Fremantle regained some form and a place in the top five. Subiaco, South Fremantle and West Perth now look certain to finish first, second and third with two rounds of the season remaining but the race remains on for the last two finals positions. Peel Thunder, East Fremantle and East Perth are now separated by just the one win from fourth to sixth and with the trio having two games remaining, any combination of the three teams can all still finish in fourth and fifth position. Saturday's results saw Subiaco beat East Perth 9.14 (68) to 6.10 (46) at Medibank Stadium, South Fremantle defeat Swan Districts 14.21 (105) to 11.4 (70) at Fremantle Community Bank Oval, West Perth down Claremont 17.6 (108) to 17.5 (107) at HBF Arena and East Fremantle get over Perth 17.12 (114) to 9.11 (65) at Lathlain Park. WAFC pays tribute to Vince Pendal

The West Australian Football Commission issues its sincere condolences to the family and friends of Perth Football Club President Vince Pendal, who passed away on Saturday. WAFC Chairman Murray McHenry said Mr Pendal had been an outstanding contributor to Perth Football Club and the West Australian Football League and would be missed by everyone involved with WA Football. “Vince always had the best interests of Perth Football Club at heart and made a terrific contribution during his two stints as President,” Mr McHenry said. The West Australian Football Commission acknowledges the outstanding contribution, leadership and commitment of Fremantle Football Club President Steve Harris to the club and the West Australian football community. SUBIACO further secured first place, South Fremantle second spot and West Perth third position in Saturday's Round 21 WAFL action while East Fremantle moved back into the top-five with a return to form. The top three WAFL positions now appear locked away following Round 21 of the 2016 McDonald's WAFL Premiership Season. Those top three sides all won with Subiaco beating East Perth 9.14 (68) to 6.10 (46) at Medibank Stadium, South Fremantle defeating Swan Districts 14.21 (105) to 11.4 (70) at Fremantle Community Bank Oval and West Perth holding on in a thriller prevailing over Claremont 17.6 (108) to 17.5 (107) at HBF Arena. While the fourth placed Peel Thunder had the bye, East Fremantle replaced East Perth in fifth position after the Sharks returned to the winner's list beating Perth 17.12 (114) to 9.11 (65) at Lathlain Park. THE WAFL's top two spots might be secured by Subiaco and South Fremantle heading into the final three rounds but the race for the remaining finals positions is set to be a fascinating one starting with this Saturday's Round 21 action. While Subiaco looks safe on top of the ladder for a second straight year and South Fremantle is a game and percentage clear in second, the last three positions are anything but certain and that sets up a terrific last three rounds of the 2016 McDonald's WAFL Premiership Season starting Saturday. All four games feature teams either guaranteed of playing finals or a chance to break into the top five. Curley re-signs as coach of Bulldogs for two more years

SOUTH Fremantle is guaranteed of returning to the WAFL finals in 2016 and the man that has got them there, coach Todd Curley has re-signed with the Bulldogs for a further a two years keeping him at the helm until at least the end of 2018. Curley took over as South Fremantle coach ahead of the 2015 season and now the Bulldogs are guaranteed of a finals position in 2016 currently sitting in second spot with a 12-5 record with three games remaining. Curley has overseen the development of a young group with no player taking the field in 2016 older than 29 years of age so it is a team built for sustained a success starting with the Bulldogs' return to the finals this year for the first time since 2011. Round 20 McDonald's WAFL Wrap Up

SUBIACO and South Fremantle all but guaranteed first and second positions on the WAFL ladder with home wins at different venues in Round 20 of the 2016 McDonald's WAFL Premiership Season while Peel Thunder also went a long way to locking away a second straight finals berth. Subiaco took on West Perth at Kingsway Reserve on Saturday in the third grand final rematch of 2016 and it was the Lions who proved too strong winning 12.17 (89) to 5.7 (37). South Fremantle and Perth made the journey to Carnarvon and it was the Bulldogs who came from 31 points down just before half-time to beat the Demons by 37 in the end, 17.11 (113) to 11.10 (76). Peel Thunder moved clear in fourth position with a strong win over East Perth 13.11 (89) to 7.11 (53) at Medibank Stadium while Claremont moved up from eighth spot to seventh beating Swan Districts 14.15 (99) to 6.9 (45) at Steel Blue Oval.
