Harding has Swans primed and ready for unbeaten Bulldogs

Saturday, April 11, 2015 - 10:07 AM - by Chris Pike
SWAN Districts coach Greg Harding has had two weeks to let his team know about his disappointment about their loss to East Perth and expects their best this Saturday against a South Fremantle team he rates as a real contender in 2015. Swans started the season in emphatic fashion beating Perth by 96 points at Steel Blue Oval before then putting in a disappointing first two and-a-half quarters against East Perth at Medibank Stadium. The black-and-whites did fly home and only lost by 13 points but for Harding it didn’t make up for the poor way his team started the game. They then had the bye last weekend over Easter and now Harding has some selection headaches coming into Saturday's clash with the unbeaten South Fremantle at Steel Blue Oval. Read More ...

Spalding ramming home non-negotiables to Demons

Friday, April 10, 2015 - 7:43 PM - by Chris Pike
PERTH coach Earl Spalding knows that his Demons team is a work in progress but one thing he can't compromise on is giving 100 per cent and being hard at the ball, and he's already had to make some hard calls on talented players who aren’t delivering exactly that. Spalding was never under any illusions that the job he was taking on in his second stint as a WAFL senior coach was always going to be a tough one with Perth losing its last 14 matches of 2014 and taking out the wooden spoon. On top of that, Perth then saw Paul Bevan, Cale Morton, Nick Kane, Gerald Ugle, Jared Risol, Haydn Busher and Matthew Moody all leave the club with all of them among their best and most experienced players. Kyle Hams ready for whatever Swans have in store for him

Friday, April 10, 2015 - 7:14 PM - by Chris Pike
KYLE Hams has no trouble admitting to enjoying his three years with Swan Districts but a year out of the WAFL had him craving one more crack and the chance to try to win a third premiership with South Fremantle and his twin brother Ashton was too much to turn down. Hams played 106 matches and was a key player in the back-line in South Fremantle's premierships in 2005 and 2009, but he was feeling a little stale with the Bulldogs at the end of 2010 and was considering doing in 2011 what he ended up doing in 2014 - taking time away from the WAFL. He has always wanted to move back to Busselton to live, and he has done that, but Swan Districts made him an offer too good to refuse in 2011 and he ended up having three outstanding seasons with the black-and-whites.
