If the 2015 Associated and Catholic Colleges of WA Freo Dockers Cup Grand Final was anything to go by, the future of female footy in schools is in safe hands.
This year’s competition consisted of the winning Freo Dockers Cup schools from preliminary rounds played earlier in the school term. This included some of the 3000 students and 150 schools that took part across the state in the competition which culminated with a finals series at City Beach Oval earlier this month.
The Grand Final tri-series, now in its third year, has given female students the opportunity to play football and to showcase the skills they have acquired throughout the program.
The action took place in ideal conditions, with teams from Seton Catholic College, Mandurah Catholic College and Mater Dei College completing a fierce but fair round robin competition.
