WA women join Indigenous Round celebrations

An Indigenous Women’s All-Star side will compete against a WA Women’s Football League All-Stars side this Sunday, June 1, to coincide with AFL Indigenous Round celebrations. The game will be the third biannual Yorga’s Koodjal Kadadjiny match “Women’s Two Way Learning Match”. Royals crush Redlegs in Foxtel Cup

EAST Perth has cruised into the Foxtel Cup semi finals with a thumping 50-point victory over an under-strength Norwood at Patersons Stadium on Tuesday night. The Royals fielded a strong team and looked fresh having not played a WAFL match the past two weekends and took it out on the Redlegs winning 9.11 (65) to 2.3 (15) after kicking the first seven goals of the game. State 18s shift focus to Vic Metro

Western Australia's State 18s have shifted their focus to this Saturday's game against Victoria Metro after an opening round loss to South Australia on the weekend. WA play Vic Metro at 11am this Saturday, May 31 at Medibank Stadium. EAST Perth hasn’t played in the WAFL for two weeks and won't play for another six days so will be fielding a strong line-up against the reigning SANFL premiers Norwood in tonight's Foxtel Cup clash at Patersons Stadium. The WAFL put State players on the spot with three quick questions to gain an insight into football and life off the field during their trip to Sydney on the weekend to take on the North East Australian Football League team at Blacktown. The team claimed an 85-point win in the State Game contest, with South Fremantle's Ashton Hams winning the Simpson Medal as best on ground and team mate Ben Saunders kicking five goals. WAFL beats NEAFL by 85 points in Sydney

THE WAFL State team dominated the NEAFL after conceding the first two goals of the game at Blacktown International Sportspark in Sydney on Saturday to end up recording a comprehensive 85-point victory. The game was the first time that the WAFL has played a representative team from the North East Australian Football League featuring players from clubs based in New South Wales, the ACT, Queensland and the Northern Territory. The NEAFL hosted the match at Blacktown in Sydney on Saturday and they managed to boot the first two goals of the game inside the first four minutes, but the WAFL team dominated the contest from that point on. Jones wants to help keep WAFL ahead of the pack

JORDAN Jones is one of 15 players representing Western Australia for the first time on Saturday against the NEAFL at Blacktown in Sydney and the West Perth premiership player wants to help the WAFL continue to stamp itself as the premier competition outside the AFL. Arena Joondalup redevelopment planning well underway

PLANNING and progress on the Arena Joondalup redevelopment is well and truly underway with the Project Definition Plan to be signed off by May 13, the Project Scope and Project Delivery Method determined by June 30, building to commence by the end of 2014 and the entire project done before the end of 2016. The entire $20 million project will eventually end up seeing new facilities being built for the West Perth Football Club overlooking the Arena Joondalup football field while a new basketball stadium will be built for the Joondalup Wolves and upgrades to the Joondalup Brothers Rugby Union facilities will also be undertaken.
