WAFL Grand Final confirmed for Optus Stadium

The 2018 McDonald’s WAFL Grand Final will be played at Optus Stadium at 2.40pm on Sunday, September 23 featuring the first ever public kick-to-kick on the ground for fans. WAFC CEO Gavin Taylor encouraged everyone, regardless of which team they support, to attend and experience a great day out for the whole family. “The WAFL Grand Final is one of the biggest events on the WA football calendar and we have a great range of family activities and attractions planned to make it a celebration of WA football,” he said. M & J Chickens Player of Round 20

HE might have not have played against a genuine ruckman but Zac Clarke took full toll in quite the dominant all-round display for Subiaco against East Fremantle on Saturday to earn M & J Chickens Player of the Round honours. With captain Jonathon Griffin unavailable through injury to lock horns with his former Fremantle teammate, East Fremantle decided against playing a genuine ruckman against Subiaco and Clarke took full advantage in about as dominant a ruck display as you are likely to see. There were plenty of other standout performers across the Round 20 action including big games from Claremont's Sandover Medal winning pair Kane Mitchell and Jye Bolton in the Tigers' win over Peel Thunder. TABtouch Team of Round 20

THE penultimate round in the 2018 WAFL season saw plenty of standout performances including a dominant showing from a ruckman and a seven-goal haul while Claremont locked away a finals spot leaving East Perth, Perth and Peel Thunder to fight over the remaining position. While the top three and bottom two positions were locked away heading into Round 20 of the season, the last two finals positions remained on the line with the battle between East Perth, Claremont, Perth and Peel Thunder over the final two weeks. Round 20 Colts Wrap

THE top five positions in the WAFL colts for 2018 are locked away with one round remaining following wins in Round 20 on Saturday by Subiaco, Claremont, South Fremantle and East Perth. Despite winning on Saturday, Claremont can't make the finals with one game of the season remaining and neither can West Perth, Perth or East Perth. Subiaco is guaranteed of the minor premiership with Peel Thunder, East Fremantle, Swan Districts and South Fremantle the other teams who will take part in finals action. Read More ...

Governor Stirling SHS wins Eagles Cup Waalitj Division

Governor Stirling SHS has won the Eagles Schoolboys Cup for the first time, defeating Emmanuel Catholic College by five points in a thrilling Waalitj Division Grand Final at Optus Stadium on Sunday. West Coast and Cottesloe through to WAAFL Women's Grand Finals

West Coast have secured a placed in the WAAFL Women’s A Grade Grand Final after defeating Curtin Uni Wesley in the 2nd Semi Final on Saturday. The match played under lights at Noranda's Lightning Park saw West Coast claim a 5.5 (35) - 1.5 (11) victory. Round 20 Match Reports

THE WAFL's top three teams all flexed their muscles in Round 20 action on Saturday as Subiaco, South Fremantle and West Perth recorded comfortable wins while Claremont came from behind to beat Peel Thunder and lock in a finals berth in 2018. It was the second last round of the 2018 home and away season on Saturday and while Subiaco, South Fremantle and West Perth couldn’t move from the top three spots, and Swan Districts and East Fremantle were anchored at the bottom, the last two finals positions were up for grabs. Going into the penultimate round, Claremont, East Perth, Perth and Peel Thunder were still a chance to play finals and that's now still the case heading into the final round next Saturday but the job is decidedly more challenging for the Demons than the rest. TRENT Manzone and Keifer Yu celebrate 100-game milestones with their respective clubs in crucial games for West Perth and Claremont in Round 20 of the WAFL on Saturday with Perth, East Perth and Peel Thunder all needing to win too as the race to the finals heats up. It's the second last round of the 2018 WAFL season and while the top three positions appear locked away and Swan Districts and East Fremantle anchored to the bottom two spots, East Perth, Claremont, Perth and Peel Thunder remain in a battle over the remaining finals positions. Ugle earns universal respect on way to 100 games
