Tuesday, June 19, 2018 - 8:22 AM - by Chris Pike
THE final margin was exactly 100 points less than their meeting on Good Friday but again Subiaco did enough to remain unbeaten in the 2018 WAFL season beating East Perth by 18 points at Leederville Oval on Saturday.   Subiaco ended up continuing its dominance of the WAFL this season and of East Perth in recent seasons, but the Lions didn’t have it all their own way on Saturday in the battle of the Leederville Oval co-tenants.   While Subiaco did end up winning 11.15 (81) to 9.9 (63) to make it nine straight wins to remain undefeated this season and 10 in-a-row against East Perth, the Royals got closer than any other opponent to the Lions so far in 2018. CLAREMONT and West Perth games have been delivering remarkable contests for years and it continued Saturday with the Falcons beating the Tigers by a point thanks to ruckman Chris Keunen touching what would have been the winning goal right on the line in the dying seconds.   The recent history between the two clubs was remarkable already entering Saturday's clash at Claremont Oval and it certainly continued.   West Perth had won six of the previous seven meetings with Claremont but four of those had only been by a combined 13 points and ever since the Tigers beat the Falcons by 119 points in Round 18, 2012, every game between the two teams had been decided by 10.6 points. Round 11 Preview – Perth v East Fremantle

Saturday, June 16, 2018 - 8:44 AM - by Chris Pike
THEY have been the perennial struggles of the WAFL in recent years but Perth and East Fremantle couldn’t enter Saturday's clash at Lathlain Park with any more contrasting form lines. While the Demons and Sharks both occupy the bottom two positions on the WAFL ladder like they did at the end of last year with three wins apiece, and they have shared three of the past four wooden spoons and it appears likely to happen again in 2018, they appear heading in different directions. Perth comes into Saturday's clash at Lathlain Park on a high having beaten South Fremantle by a goal last Saturday and that was an impressive effort especially from the Demons considering they trailed by 20 points early in the last term.
