East Perth was also the team that eliminated Peel from the finals in 2015 at the Mandurah venue while the Thunder returned the favour beating the Royals in last year's elimination final on their way to the premiership. Monday, May 1, 2017 - 11:26 AM - by Chris Pike
SWAN Districts and Claremont had both made encouraging starts to 2017 but were coming off losses ahead of Saturday's clash at Steel Blue Oval. One of them had to bounce back while the other's start to the season would somewhat be diminished with a defeat on Saturday setting up a fascinating clash at the Bassendean venue who have become used to some remarkable battles over the past decade. Swans have started the season impressively winning their opening four games and it was only a narrow five-point loss to West Perth at HBF Arena last week that saw them lose for the first time. Round 7 Preview - West Perth v Perth

Friday, April 28, 2017 - 2:57 PM - by Chris Pike
WEST Perth's response to a big loss to South Fremantle couldn’t have been more impressive the past two weeks but the Falcons won't want any sort of drop off against Perth on Saturday at HBF Arena. The Falcons were rocked three weeks ago with a 103-point defeat at the hands of South Fremantle at Fremantle Community Bank Oval, but how they responded would tell the story of their season. And to West Perth's credit, it has hit back impressively to beat Peel Thunder in Mandurah by 35 points and then last Saturday handing Swan Districts its first loss of the season with a five-point triumph at HBF Arena. Claremont also opened the campaign with three successive wins but have lost the last two weeks against South Fremantle and Subiaco. Swans and the Tigers have still made impressive starts and considering Swan Districts would improve to 5-1 and Claremont to 4-2 with a win on Saturday, there's plenty at stake at Steel Blue Oval.
