Round 4 kicking off with Thursday night football

ROUND 4 of the WAFL season gets underway at 7.10pm tonight, Thursday April 19, with a game under lights between Subiaco and Claremont at Leederville Oval. The action continues at Lathlain Park and Steel Blue Oval on Saturday and concludes at East Fremantle Oval on Sunday where the Fremantle ANZAC  Derby clash will take place for the Sir Hughie Edwards Cup. ANZAC Round 4 match previews

FOLLOWING Round 4 of the 2018 WAFL season getting underway with Subiaco beating Claremont, there are two ANZAC Round games on Saturday afternoon and then the ANZAC Fremantle Derby to conclude proceedings on Sunday. The Round 4 WAFL action began on Thursday night under lights at Leederville Oval with Subiaco continuing its dominant start to the season, beating Claremont 20.15 (135) to 7.7 (49). There are then two matches on Saturday afternoon with Swan Districts playing West Perth at Steel Blue Oval, and Perth hosting East Perth at Lathlain Park.  Read More ...

ANZAC Round of the WAFL kicks off at Lathlain Park and Steel Blue Oval on Saturday and concludes at East Fremantle Oval on Sunday where the ANZAC Fremantle Derby clash is set to unfold. Round 3 Colts Wrap

SUBIACO'S colts are the last remaining team in the 2018 competition as well after beating Swan Districts on Saturday while East Fremantle, West Perth and Perth also recorded Round 3 victories. Three of the four Round 3 colts contests took place on Saturday afternoon highlighted by the top-of-the-table clash between unbeaten teams, Subiaco and Swan Districts. ROUND 3 of the 2018 WAFL season saw Subiaco remain undefeated by delivering another statement performance while Perth, Claremont and South Fremantle all recorded their first victories of the campaign. The round got underway with two matches on Saturday afternoon including a battle of the undefeated teams at Leederville Oval. That saw Subiaco deliver a stunningly dominant performance after quarter-time to beat Swan Districts 21.14 (140) to 6.8 (44). Round 3 MRP update

Claremont's Kane Mitchell has been dismissed by the WAFL Match Review Panel after being reported for striking Dion Anthony, East Fremantle, before the commencement of the 1st quarter of the in Round 3 League game at Claremont Oval. Based on the available evidence and a victim impact report from the East Fremantle Football Club, the match review panel concluded that the action was not a reportable offence and the incident was dismissed. Young talent competing in WAFL 16s Carnival

More than 350 of the State’s top emerging footballers are showcasing their talent at the 2018 WAFL 16s Carnival which kicked off last month. The six-round series of matches concludes on April 14, and following the carnival, the WA State 16s Academy selection panel will develop a list of 50 players to participate in the State 16s trial selection fixture on April 20. SUBIACO has shot clear on top of the WAFL ladder as the last remaining undefeated team after a 96-point hammering of Swan Districts to open Round 3 on Saturday with Claremont opening its account with a thrilling win over East Fremantle. The first two matches of Round 3 both took place on Saturday afternoon with Subiaco beating Swan Districts 21.14 (140) to 6.8 (44) and Claremont defeated East Fremantle 12.11 (83) to 11.13 (79). North West footballers gear up for academy camp

A group of talented football players from the Kimberley and Pilbara will travel to Perth to participate in a three-day talent academy camp run by the West Australian Football Commission. The group of 35 players will participate in a number of organised activities over the course of the North West Academy Camp which kicks off on Monday April 16. The camp will provide the group with an understanding and experience of what it is like to be involved in the WA Talent Pathway. Read More ...

ROUND 3 of the 2018 WAFL season sees two games each on Saturday and Sunday afternoons highlighted by the battle of the last two remaining undefeated teams, Subiaco and Swan Districts. The Saturday afternoon Round 3 WAFL action sees Subiaco host Swan Districts at Leederville Oval. Both teams have opened the new season in impressive fashion with the Lions beating East Perth and South Fremantle, and Swans getting the better of Perth and Peel Thunder to set the stage for the early season top-of-the-table contest. SWAN Districts and Subiaco continued their winning starts to the 2018 Colts season while Luke English delivered a dominant display to lead Perth to a big win on the road against East Fremantle. The Round 2 colts action saw Perth bounce back from an opening round loss to Swan Districts to defeat East Fremantle 15.9 (99) to 5.6 (36) at East Fremantle Oval on Saturday. THERE were a host of standout performers in Round 2 of the 2018 WAFL season including Fraser McInnes leading East Perth to a bounce back win, a debutant starring in Swan Districts' win over Peel while Subiaco and East Fremantle had big ball winners in victories over South Fremantle and Perth. All four of the Round 2 matches took place on Saturday afternoon with East Perth bouncing back from a 118-point loss to Subiaco on Good Friday to beat West Perth 17.10 (112) to 7.12 (54) at Leederville Oval. East Fremantle and Perth both battled to avoid the wooden spoon in 2017 and lost in Round 1, but put in a tight contest at East Fremantle Oval with the Sharks ending up prevailing 13.9 (87) to 11.14 (80) over the Demons.
