ROUND 3 of the 2018 WAFL season sees two games each on Saturday and Sunday afternoons highlighted by the battle of the last two remaining undefeated teams, Subiaco and Swan Districts. The Saturday afternoon Round 3 WAFL action sees Subiaco host Swan Districts at Leederville Oval. Both teams have opened the new season in impressive fashion with the Lions beating East Perth and South Fremantle, and Swans getting the better of Perth and Peel Thunder to set the stage for the early season top-of-the-table contest. Round 2 Colts Wrap

SWAN Districts and Subiaco continued their winning starts to the 2018 Colts season while Luke English delivered a dominant display to lead Perth to a big win on the road against East Fremantle. The Round 2 colts action saw Perth bounce back from an opening round loss to Swan Districts to defeat East Fremantle 15.9 (99) to 5.6 (36) at East Fremantle Oval on Saturday. Team and Player of Round 2

THERE were a host of standout performers in Round 2 of the 2018 WAFL season including Fraser McInnes leading East Perth to a bounce back win, a debutant starring in Swan Districts' win over Peel while Subiaco and East Fremantle had big ball winners in victories over South Fremantle and Perth. All four of the Round 2 matches took place on Saturday afternoon with East Perth bouncing back from a 118-point loss to Subiaco on Good Friday to beat West Perth 17.10 (112) to 7.12 (54) at Leederville Oval. East Fremantle and Perth both battled to avoid the wooden spoon in 2017 and lost in Round 1, but put in a tight contest at East Fremantle Oval with the Sharks ending up prevailing 13.9 (87) to 11.14 (80) over the Demons. Round 2 MRP Update

East Perth's Julian Ameduri and South Fremantle's Nick Suban have both accepted reprimands from the WAFL Match Review Panel following a review of incidents reported during Round 2 League games on the weekend. Ameduri was reported for rough conduct on Aaron Black, West Perth, during the first quarter of the League match between East Perth and West Perth on Saturday 7th April at Leederville Oval. Round 2 Results

THE Grand Finalists of the past four years, Subiaco sent another emphatic message in Round 2 of the 2018 WAFL season with a thumping of South Fremantle while East Perth, Swan Districts and East Fremantle were also victorious. All four Round 2 matches took place on Saturday afternoon and delivered some fascinating results. In the end, East Perth beat West Perth 17.10 (112) to 7.12 (54), Swan Districts defeated Peel Thunder 15.12 (102) to 13.10 (88), East Fremantle downed Perth 13.9 (87) to 11.14 (80) and Subiaco won big over South Fremantle 18.12 (120) to 9.8 (62). Football experience added to WAFC Executive

The West Australian Football Commission has appointed former Fremantle Football Club – Football Operations Manager Scott Baker as its new Executive Manager of Talent and Football Operations. Baker worked at Fremantle Football Club for 11 years before moving into a consultancy role with PMY Group a year ago, where he has been involved with projects analysing the growth of female football and its impact on resources at a community level, as well as recommendations for a new WAFL aligned state league women's competition. Round 2 Match Previews

ROUND 2 of the 2018 WAFL season sees all four matches take place on Saturday afternoon with West Perth, Swan Districts, Peel Thunder and Subiaco trying to stay undefeated, and East Fremantle, Perth, East Perth and South Fremantle looking for a first victory. After the Round 1 matches were spread over Good Friday and then Saturday during the Easter Break, all four games in Round 2 take place this Saturday afternoon. Three of the four games take place in the traditional 2.15pm time slot with East Fremantle facing Perth at East Fremantle Oval, East Perth taking on West Perth at Leederville Oval and then Swan Districts battling Peel Thunder at Steel Blue Oval. Rejuvenated Griffin revelling in Sharks' captaincy

WHILE proud of what he achieved in 13 years at the AFL with Adelaide and Fremantle, new East Fremantle captain Jonathon Griffin is feeling rejuvenated to be back full-time at the Sharks and ready for the new phase of his life. Griffin led East Fremantle into battle for the first time as captain on Good Friday in a narrow Round 1 loss to reigning premiers Peel Thunder at Bendigo Bank Stadium as he now prepares for his first match as skipper on home turf this Saturday against Perth. Griffin certainly has no regrets over the time he was able to spend in the AFL that started way back when he was drafted by the Adelaide Crows from East Fremantle in 2005. Read More ...

Team and Player of Round 1

ROUND 1 of the 2018 WAFL season got underway across the Easter Weekend and while Rhys Palmer's performance for Swan Districts was the standout individual showing, there were plenty more stars including the Team of the Round made up of four Subiaco forwards who combined for 17 goals. Round 1 Colts Wrap

THERE were some exciting names performing strongly in Round 1 WAFL Colts action to open the 2018 season with some new and familiar faces alike helping Subiaco, Peel Thunder, Claremont and Swan Districts score victories. Three of the four Round 1 WAFL Colts matches took place on Good Friday and they saw Subiaco defeat East Perth 19.11 (125) to 7.10 (52) at Leederville Oval.  Peel Thunder beat East Fremantle 11.12 (78) to 8.5 (53) at Bendigo Bank Stadium and Claremont overran West Perth at HBF Arena, to win 12.6 (78) to 8.13 (61).
