A group of 20 WA development coaches received the opportunity to gain insight from West Coast Eagles coach Adam Simpson as part of a coaching session coordinated by the West Australian Football Commission.
The WAFL Colts Coaches, Development Coaches and Talent Managers attended the session led by WAFC State Talent Manager Adam Jones and Coaching Coordinator Tony Micale at Domain Stadium on Wednesday, January 13.
The session focussed on different approaches to running an effective training session and included modules on organisation, drills, coach review, purpose, outcomes and questions.
There was also an opportunity to observe West Coast Eagles training and attend a question and answer session afterwards with coach Adam Simpson, who kindly gave his time to helping develop WA's grassroots coaches.
The sessions will continue throughout the 2016 season to help enhance WA's development coaches, with future topics to include Game Day, Game Review, Player Feedback and Coach Characteristics.
Under the program, each coach will receive a tailored development program and ongoing individual support and feedback from WAFC Coaching Coordinator Tony Micale.
