The West Australian Football Commission is hosting a number of events to celebrate AFL Multicultural Round this week in partnership with the AFL, Australia Post, Department of Sport and Recreation and the Office of Multicultural Interests.
Events kicked off on Tuesday, August 4 and will continue throughout the weekend to embrace the motto 'Many Cultures, One Game'.
Tuesday August 4
A group of New Australian Citizens sworn in on Saturday August 1 through the City of Subiaco met AFL Multicultural Ambassador Nic Naitanui, visited Domain Stadium and learnt how to kick a football. The Nic Naitanui Academy also had a training session at Kitchener Park, next to Domain Stadium.
Thursday August 6

Saturday August 8
2pm - WA Amateur Football League teams to wear a red armband as part of Multicultural Round and a stance against racism
3pm - Nic Naitanui Academy will play in curtain raiser exhibition match at Domain Stadium v Djinda Falcons
5pm - Chung Wah Association Chinese Dragon entertainment in Fan Zone pre-game
5:40pm - West Coast Eagles v Hawks play in Multicultural Round fixture at Domain Stadium - Many Cultures, One Game multi-lingual run through banner; Sammy Yap from Chung Wah will be the Multicultural Guest Speaker in Chairman’s Function, special 50m arcs to be painted.
6:30pm - Multicultural school and community groups play in halftime exhibition match at Domain Stadium (featuring new citizens)
