SUBIACO and East Perth both recorded 100-plus point thumpings across Round 18 of the 2015 WAFL season while West Perth and Peel Thunder each kicked the last five goals of their matches to win and all but lock away finals positions.

The round began with three games on Saturday afternoon with two thumpings with Subiaco beating Perth 25.17 (167) to 5.4 (34) at Medibank Stadium while East Perth also scored a big win over South Fremantle 28.9 (177) to 11.5 (71) at Fremantle Oval.

The tight game on Saturday saw West Perth hit back from a 21-point three quarter-time deficit to beat Claremont 13.12 (90) to 12.8 (80) at HBF Arena.

And then on Sunday, Peel Thunder responded with the last five goals after trailing Swan Districts by 19 points midway through the last term to win 17.9 (111) to 15.10 (100) at Bendigo Bank Stadium.

The round's results leave Subiaco (13-2) clear on top of the ladder with West Perth (10-5), Peel Thunder (10-6), East Perth (8-8) and Swan Districts (8-8) rounding out the top-five.

Just outside are South Fremantle (8-8) and Claremont (7-8) with East Fremantle (5-10) and Perth (1-15) both on significant losing streaks.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Brendon Jones has now played 214 WAFL matches without coming close to playing in a solitary final, but he went a long way to make sure that changes in 2015 leading Peel Thunder to a win over Swan Districts on Sunday.

During his 214-game career at both Perth and Peel, Jones has been a supremely consistent midfielder and is a three-time fairest and best winner as a result, but what he craves more than anything is to play finals.

And the 29-year-old delivered a stunning best on ground performance on Sunday as the Thunder kicked the last five goals of the game to beat Swans, and to all but lock in Peel to play finals in 2015 for the first time in club's history.

Jones was instrumental in the win racking up a career-high 39 possessions while also kicking the go-ahead goal in the last quarter that Peel never looked back from.

THE SHINING LIGHTS
West Perth's win over Claremont saw the Falcons celebrate the 100th game of premiership player, state representative and Sandover Medallist Aaron Black who finished with 18 possessions and two goals in his milestone game.

Corey Chalmers kicked three second quarter goals to get West Perth back into the contest with Matt Johnson and Black both adding two goals apiece.

Shane Nelson continued his outstanding season in the midfield for West Perth racking up another 29 possessions to go with a crucial final quarter goal.

Captain Jay van Berlo led the team from the front in the absence of co-captain Luke Tedesco and premiership stars Matt Guadagnin, Jordan Jones and Rohan Kerr to finish with 26 possessions and nine tackles.

Trent Manzone also stepped up for the Falcons making the most of his opportunity in the league team compiling 25 disposals to go with seven inside-50 entries, five marks and four tackles.

Ray Bartholomew worked hard for 19 touches for the Falcons with Aidan Lynch gathering 18 disposals and laying 13 tackles while Blake Wilhelm had 16 possessions and a goal off half-back.

Claremont was in control of the contest for the majority of the first three quarters and still led by 21 points at three quarter-time, but the goalless final quarter leaves the Tigers looking on at the top five from the outside.

Kepler Bradley enjoyed his return to HBF Arena for the first time as a Claremont player providing a good target in attack kicking three goals from 12 possessions and six marks while Ian Richardson also booted three majors for the Tigers and Beau Maister two.

Another West Perth premiership player Mark Seaby hurt his knee in the first quarter limiting his influence but Darcy Cameron did well holding down the ruck up against Chris Keunen finishing with 12 touches, six marks and 61 hit outs.

Tom Ledger was terrific for Claremont not only limiting Andrew Strijk to 13 possessions for West Perth but racking up 28 disposals himself.

Captain Jake Murphy also made a successful return for Claremont for his first game since Round 3 after two matches back in the reserves finishing with 24 possessions, five tackles and a goal while another dual premiership midfielder Tom Swift worked hard for 22 disposals in just his second league game of the season, and since the 2012 grand final win over East Fremantle.

Keifer Yu was another to have a strong game for the Tigers with 25 possessions while Corey Yeo amassed 24 disposals, Matthew Davies 24, Oliver Tate 23, Ryan Lim 22 and Anton Hamp 21 while limiting the influence of West Perth full-forward Michael Lourey.

East Perth put in its most dominant and impressive performance on the season to return to the top-five beating South Fremantle by 106 points and it was on the back of a host of career-best performances.

Brendan Lee was outstanding racking up 31 possessions, eight marks and seven tackles but he also got forward to kick three goals for the first time in his 117-game career with the Royals.

Lee's co-captain and 262-game veteran Craig Wulff also kicked four goals for the first time during his decorated career to go with 25 possessions and nine marks.

Fraser McInnes was another to kick four goals for the first time in his 69-game WAFL career to go with 17 disposals and eight marks before he injured a hamstring late in the game that looks set to end his season.

Tom Lamb was another to hit the scoreboard and he kicked the first four goals of his WAFL career with East Perth while Jarrad Oakley-Nicholls kicked three majors as well and Corey Adamson two.

They were far from the only East Perth players to have big games with Patrick McGinnity returning from injury to have 23 possessions and three goals while Paul Johnson finished with 14 disposals, six marks, 37 hit outs and two goals in the ruck.

Brant Colledge collected 26 possessions for East Perth as well, Dylan Main 25, Kane Lucas 23, Steven Payne 23, Mitch Fraser 20, Sam Butler 19 and Garry Moss 18.

In his 149th appearance for South Fremantle, Ashton Hams worked hard on Saturday for South Fremantle continuing his outstanding season finishing with a game-high 36 possessions to go with eight tackles.

Tim Kelly also worked hard in the midfield collecting 24 disposals to go with five inside-50 entries, five marks, four tackles and a goal while Brendan Verrier compiled 22 touches and Jacob Dragovich 19 to go with five tackles on his return to the league side.

Cory Dell'Olio battled away in the forward-line kicking three goals from 23 possessions and six marks with 189-game veteran Craig While kicking three goals as well and Josh Pullman adding two majors.

Subiaco scored the biggest win of the WAFL season thrashing Perth by 133 points at Medibank Stadium and Sam Menegola once again showed that he might still be capable of winning a Sandover Medal despite missing the first half of the season.

The East Fremantle product and former Fremantle-listed utility was once again best on ground for Subiaco with a remarkable individual performance with 35 possessions, seven marks, six inside-50 entries and four goals.

Premiership full-forward Matt Boland benefited from Subiaco's dominance up the ground by kicking seven goals from 19 possessions and 11 marks.

Kyle Halligan also had four goals from 21 disposals and eight marks for the Lions while Chris Deluca and Shane Yarran added three goals apiece, and Michael Wood two.

Jordan Bestry made a strong claim to carry Subiaco's ruck during the finals with 44 hit outs while Chris Phelan racked up 24 possessions for the Lions, Scott Hancock 23, Leigh Kitchin 22, Kyal Horsley 21 and Craig Hoskins 20.

Subiaco's back-line stood up well despite the absence of Darren Rumble and Wayde Twomey with Charles Le Fanu ending up with 22 possessions in defence and Hayden Kennedy 20.

It was another tough afternoon for Perth with the Demons now having lost their last 11 matches and having recorded just the one victory in their last 30 games.

Three of Perth's five goals came from 17-year-old Marshall Jones while Aidan Tropiano again worked hard for 30 possessions and nine tackles, but Subiaco did well to always put him under pressure and limit him just five kicks.

Jarryd Morton tried to set up play for the Demons with his 27 disposals while Michael Sinclair finished with 29 touches, Liam McKenna 22, Jacob Payne 20, captain Dene White 19 and Jared Bell 18.

Captain Brendon Jones was simply outstanding for Peel putting in a best on ground performance made up of a career-best 39 possessions, eight marks and the match-winning goal in the final quarter.

Gerald Ugle also had a career-best day for Peel kicking five goals while Leroy Jetta was terrific with 23 possessions and three goals, including two of the last three goals of the game.

Brady Grey had a big game for Peel as well with 33 possessions, six tackles, six inside 50s and a goal while a host of his Fremantle teammates had good games including Ed Langdon (24 disposals), Connor Blakely (24), Paul Duffield (23), Lachie Weller (21) and Jacob Ballard (21).

Zac Clarke worked hard spending most of the game in the ruck for Peel and had 13 disposals, seven marks, 36 hit outs and two goals while Zac Dawson had a solid game in defence in his second game back injury.

Tendai Mzungu also did well for Peel with 23 possessions and a goal as he had a tremendous battle with Nathan Broad who had 22 disposals and a goal for Swan Districts.

Matthew Jukes proved Swans' most effective forward kicking four goals to have now booted 21 goals in his eight games this season. Ricky Cary also had a big impact in the second half for Swans kicking three goals with Matt Rogers adding two to go with his 19 disposals.

Ryan Davis was instrumental in Swans' second half performance and he had 21 possessions and two goals for the game with Aaron Elari gathering 27 disposals in his 100th WAFL appearance.

Adam Faulkner picked up 23 touches for Swan Districts, Warrick Wilson 21, Jacob Burnham 18, Matt Riggio 18 and Captain Tallan Ames 18 to go with nine marks.

RESERVES STANDOUTS
West Perth's reserves came away with a strong 17.13 (115) to 10.11 (71) victory over Claremont at HBF Arena on the back of six goals to one in the final quarter.

Callum Papertalk was the star for West Perth kicking 7.5 from 18 possessions and eight marks to put his hand up for a long-awaited league debut.

Hayden Yarran also booted three goals from four kicks for the Falcons with Northern Territory recruit Mark Hamilton showing exciting signs with three goals from 13 possessions.

Dean Munns compiled 28 possessions for West Perth, Brayden Antonio 27, Kaidyn Fullgrabe 22, Troy Manners 21, Clint Hinchcliffe 21, Mitchell Peirce 20 and Broderick Walton 17.

Mitch Andrews worked hard in the ruck for Claremont with 17 possessions, 24 hit outs and two goals with Alexander Manuel kicking three goals and Keegan Knott two.

Declan Mountford also finished with 19 disposals for the Tigers, Jack Richardson 18 and defender Lachlan Davey 16.

South Fremantle's reserves maintained its lead on top of the ladder beating East Perth 13.12 (90) to 10.7 (67) at Fremantle Oval on Saturday.

Kaiden Matera kicked four goals for South Fremantle to continue to put his hand up for a first league appearance since 2013 with Ben Sokol also kicking three goals and John Sgherza two.

Anthony Collica also picked up 27 possessions for the Bulldogs, Matthew Ah Siu 25, James Laurino 23 and Nick Borovac 21 while Jarrod Parry returned from a foot injury to gather 23 disposals to go with seven tackles, seven inside-50 entries and a goal.

Blake Riley kicked three goals for East Perth with Trent Bradshaw booting two while Zac Dent gathered 21 possessions, Will Young 19 and Tom Shanahan 17.

Subiaco reserves also scored a thumping 19.13 (127) to 4.4 (28) win over Perth at Medibank Stadium with Ray Daniels kicking five goals while Dylan Clarke, Joel Ashman and Jeremy Woodley added two apiece.

Wayde Twomey racked up 30 possessions for the Lions, Ashman 30, Matt Bogensperger 26, Reece Blechynden 22, Connor Wilkinson 21, Luke Norriss 21, Will Fetherstonhaugh 21 and Darren Rumble 17 to go with seven marks.

Andries Mercer kicked two of Perth's four goals while Kieran Hug compiled 34 possessions, Kurtis Chester 33, Kodie Fleay 23, Sam McGillivray 22 and Mitch Browne 22.

Swan Districts reserves closed the day at Bendigo Bank Stadium on Sunday with an 18.13 (121) to 8.5 (53) victory over Peel Thunder.

Usual ruckman Jake Nuich continued his impressive recent form for Swan Districts as a key target in attack kicking five goals to go with 17 possessions and 10 marks.

Steven Wityk also kicked four goals for the black-and-whites, Dylan Nelson three, Chad Daniels two, Sean Fletcher two and Jackson Slater two.

Albert Dean compiled 36 possessions for Swans, Jason Daniels 33, Ben Whitsed 28, Jacob Coniglio 26, Brandon Erceg 21 and Levi Ridley 20.

Brennan Gillam had a day out for Peel kicking five of the Thunder's eight goals while Corey Morris gathered 23 possessions, Harrison Tyler 21 and Jamahl Mulholland 21.

REDiMED COLTS RISING STARS
West Perth's colts stormed home to beat Claremont 9.2 (56) to 7.8 (50) at HBF Arena on Saturday with the Falcons booting six goals to two in the final quarter with Mitch Antonio booting five of those.

Antonio ended up with six goals for the game from 22 possessions and nine marks with Ben Mountford gathering 24 disposals for West Perth, Scott Nelson 23, Angus Allen 22 and Conal Lynch 19 to go with 11 tackles, six inside 50s and a goal.

Tom Gajewski kicked two of Claremont's seven goals with Matt Guelfi racking up 26 possessions, 12 tackles, seven inside-50 entries and a goal. 

Perth's colts began the day at Medibank Stadium with a 9.10 (64) to 7.5 (47) win over Subiaco with Quinton Narkle and Cody Ninyette booting two goals apiece for the Demons.

Zac Fisher had 31 possessions for Perth, Corey Byrne 27, George Keith 25, Ninyette 23, Chapman Jones 23, Brad Pattison 23 and John Levien 20.

Bailey Nylander kicked two goals for Subiaco with Tom Breeze amassing 28 possessions, Josh Underwood 23, Jack Beverley 22, McKenzie Lawrence 20 and Michael Braut 19.

The day started at Fremantle Oval with East Perth beating South Fremantle 10.12 (72) to 8.10 (58) despite the Bulldogs kicking four goals to two in the final quarter.

Jed Kemp kicked four goals for East Perth in the colts victory from six kicks while Cameron Hodgson and Nathan Eaton adding two majors apiece. Stan Wright racked up 32 possessions for the Royals, Mitch Dobson 29, Connor De Campo 25, Alex Di Placido 24 and Kobe Chrisp 23.

Mitch Dzelebdzic kicked six of South Fremantle's eight goals in the contest with Jamie Foster amassing 37 possessions, Jesse Musika 29, Jake Florenca 22, Abel Brown 21, Jesse Mirco 19, Daniel Burke 19 and Josh Collard 18.

Swan Districts' colts started the day at Bendigo Bank Stadium with a 13.7 (85) to 8.15 (63) victory over Peel Thunder with Tim Yorkshire and Dylan Smith kicking three goals apiece for Swans, and Josh Cipro two goals.

Ben Gillard finished with 21 possessions for the black-and-whites, Jarrod Shorter 20, Yorkshire 17 and Cipro 17.

Karl Collard, Noah Hura and Brett Milward all kicked two goals apiece for the Peel with Haydn Matthews racking up 28 possessions, Josh Schoenfeld 27, Keegan Power 22, Hura 20 and Brandon Penny 16.
