Last Saturday when East Perth played Swan Districts Michael Washbourne became the 14th Boundary Umpire in Western Australia to reach 200 Games.
Washbourne joined the umpiring team in 2005 and made his league debut in Round 4 of 2007 when West Perth played South Fremantle at Arena Joondalup.
WAFL Umpire Manager Darryl Sinclair said that Michael had been a model of consistency thjroughout his career to date.
"In his 200 games you could count on one hand where he has not performed at the required level," Sinclair said.
"Michael takes his football very seriously and he has worked very hard since he joined the team 11 years ago."
Boundary Umpire Coach Geoff O’Neill said that Washbourne, who umpired in the 2013 state game and last year's WAFL Grand Final, was one of umpiring’s quiet achievers.
"He is well respected in the team and continues to help inexperienced umpires at training and in games," O'Neill said.
Former East Fremantle District umpire Luke Farmer also reached a significant milestone last weekend when he officiated in his 150th AFL game.
Milestone
This weekend former Perth District umpire Dean Margetts will umpire his 250th AFL game.
