SUBIACO extended its lead on top of the WAFL ladder, Swan Districts and South Fremantle both returned to the winner's list in fine fashion and Claremont got its first win of the season in Round 7 action on Saturday.

All four matches of Round 7 took place on Saturday afternoon and it saw Swan Districts return to winning form in style beating Peel Thunder 18.16 (124) to 11.11 (77) at Bassendean's Steel Blue Oval.

South Fremantle also brought to an end its three-game losing run beating East Perth 11.16 (82) to 10.9 (69) at Leederville's Medibank Stadium.

Reigning premiers Subiaco moved a game clear on top of the ladder with a comfortable 8.15 (63) to 3.9 (27) win in an uninspiring contest at Lathlain Park.

And finally on Saturday, Claremont got its first win of the season beating West Perth 12.11 (83) to 8.15 (63) at the Claremont Showground.

Swan Districts had lost its last two matches to East Fremantle and West Perth, and had to come off the heartbreak of letting slip a 26-point advantage in time-on of the last quarter on Monday, but bounced back in style at home on Saturday.

Peel had won four straight matches for the first time in its history as well coming into the game, but Swans were on top for the outset opening up a 50-point advantage by three quarter-time, and going on to win by 47.

It was two former Perth players that had the biggest impact on the scoreboard for Swans with Matt Rogers and Simon Donovan kicking three apiece, along with former Royal Steven Wityk. Ryan Davis and Alex Howard also kicked two goals for the black-and-whites.

Justin Simpson racked up another 27 possessions while Jason Daniels had 26 disposals, Davis 25, Rogers 24, Nathan Broad 22, Rudy Riddoch 22 and Matt Riggio 20.

Leroy Jetta kicked three goals for Peel and Jonathon Griffin two while Brady Grey gathered 22 possessions, Lachie Weller 21, Connor Blakely 20, Tom Sheridan 20 and Jacob Ballard 19.

South Fremantle won its first three games of the season, then lost its next three but bounced back with a strong performance to beat East Perth by 13 points largely on the back of kicking the only five goals of the third quarter.

Despite losing Ben Saunders to an ankle injury, Cory Dell'Olio played his best game of the season for the Bulldogs kicking four goals and James Sellar finished with three to go with 22 possessions and 10 marks.

Ashton Hams racked up 29 possessions for South Fremantle, Blayne Wilson 25, Brock Higgins 22, Ryan Cook 21, Adam Guglielmana 21, Jarrod Parry 20, Marlon Pickett 20 and second-gamer Jacob Dragovich 19.

Second-gamer Shayne Hille kicked two goals for East Perth while Steven Payne gathered 28 disposals, Brant Colledge 27, Freddie Clutterbuck 23, Scott Lycett 21 (eight marks, 32 hit outs) and Mark Hutchings 20.

Claremont had lost its first five games of the season and West Perth was still on a high coming off its remarkable come from behind victory over Swan Districts on Monday, but it was the Tigers who prevailed on Saturday at the Showground by 20 points after being on top all afternoon.

It was three former West Perth big men who all had a big say in the win for Claremont as well with Mark Seaby finishing with 17 disposals, 25 hit outs and a goal, Mitch Andrews 15 touches, 28 hit outs and a goal, and Kepler Bradley 19 possessions, six marks and the match-sealing goal.

Ian Richardson and Aaron Holt kicked two goals apiece for Claremont with Ryan Neates racking up 34 possessions, Corey Yeo 26, Tom Ledger 26, Oliver Tate 21, Richardson 21, Jack Bradshaw 20 and Ryan Lim 20.

Co-captain Jay van Berlo kicked three goals for West Perth and Ray Bartholomew two in his first league appearance since Round 1.

Aaron Black racked up 33 possessions for the Falcons, Shane Nelson 26, Rohan Kerr 25, Steven Browne 22 in his 100th WAFL game, van Berlo 21 and Aidan Lynch 19.

It wasn’t pretty at Lathlain Park between last year's premiers and wooden spooners, and in the end Subiaco came away with the 36-point win over Perth to see the Lions move a game clear on top of the ladder, and the Demons return to the bottom.

Shane Yarran kicked another four goals for Subiaco while Leigh Kitchin racked up 28 possessions, Clancy Wheeler 27, Joel Latham 22, Chris Phelan 22, Scott Worthington 22, Charles Le Fanu 20, Scott Hancock 20, Brett Mahoney 20 and Brett Robinson 20.

Kurtis Chester, Ashley Boyes and Brett Wolfenden kicked Perth's only three goals with Aidan Tropiano gathering 32 possessions, Joel Kalajzic 24, Wolfenden 22, Dene White 21, Jared Bell 19, Chris Billings 19 and Brent Latch 19.
