THE West Australian Football Commission has finalised a new partnership with Australia’s largest real estate media business, The Domain Group, that will see Patersons Stadium renamed as Domain Stadium.
The three-year naming rights sponsorship will inject crucial funds into stadium operations and ensure Domain Stadium continues to deliver an outstanding experience for fans at a diverse range of events.
WAFC Chief Executive Officer Gary Walton said he was delighted that Domain had agreed to become the stadium naming rights sponsor.
“Domain is a leading national brand, and their involvement with the WAFC will allow us to continue to deliver world-class experiences for the West Australian community following the expiry of the Patersons Securities naming rights partnership at the end of 2014,” he said.
“As stadium managers we have a real commitment to maintaining an extremely high standard and Domain’s contribution will provide a significant boost in this area.
“The WAFC invested $1.2 million into an upgrade of the stadium screen and audio systems in 2014 and has also made a significant investment into increasing staff and customer satisfaction to enhance the fans experience at the Stadium. This was recognised last year with a series of State and National Customer Service and Human Resource Excellence Awards, including a WestBusiness Pinnacle Award.
“In 2015 we will also be showcasing our stadium management expertise with globally experienced partners Delaware North, Live Nation and Ticketmaster. A major part of this will be the complete overhaul of our food experience, including the menus and the retail outlets. It is very exciting that this new approach will be coupled with a new naming rights partner in 2015, signalling the start of a new era at Domain Stadium.”
The Domain Group Chief Executive Officer, Mr Antony Catalano, said he was delighted to partner with the WAFC.
“The WAFC is embarking upon an exciting new era and we are thrilled to be joining them on that journey,” Mr Catalano said.
“While Domain has long had a presence in Western Australia, we are now partnering with agents to grow the Domain Group aggressively. Put simply, we think WA is a market that will benefit from increased competition and a genuine partnership between a major digital and print publishing business and agents.
“We are confident we can bring better products and better value to the Western Australian real estate industry, providing better outcomes for vendors, buyers and agents.
“The partnership with the WAFC provides a unique opportunity to build the Domain brand and is a very strong statement that we are serious about Western Australia, that we are here for the long term as we continue our aggressive national expansion and that we want to be a part of the WA community.”
Mr Walton also paid tribute to Patersons Securities for their support of football over the past four years and their cooperation and understanding throughout the naming rights negotiation process.
“Patersons has provided terrific support for our game in WA and we thank them greatly for their contribution to what has been a very beneficial partnership,” he said.
