The nominees for Commissioners of the West Australian Football Commission were endorsed on Monday, November 24, at a meeting of the Nominee Members of the WAFC (WA AFL and WAFL Clubs).
Commissioners Brett Fullarton and Larry Kickett were both reappointed for terms of three years and Grant Dorrington was appointed for his first term of three years to replace outgoing Commissioner Peter Coleman, who retires on 31 December 2014.
Brett Fullarton – Reappointed for a 3-year term from 1 January 2015 to 31 December 2017
Mr Fullarton has been a Commissioner since 2009.
Larry Kickett – Reappointed for a 3-year term from 1 January 2015 to 31 December 2017
Mr Kickett has been a Commissioner since 2012.
Grant Dorrington – Appointed for a 3-year term from 1 January 2015 to 31 December 2017
Mr Dorrington retired as Director of Pathways and Competitions at the West Australian Football Commission in 2013 after a career in football administration spanning four decades. He also served as the chairman of the Western Australian Road Safety Council between 1997 and 2009. In 2012 he received an Australia Day honour OAM (Order of Australia) for outstanding leadership of Road Safety in WA and contribution to WA football.
WAFC Chairman Frank Cooper congratulated Mr Fullarton and Mr Kickett on their reappointments to the Commission and Mr Dorrington on being appointed to his first three-year term.
“Football will certainly benefit from their involvement with the WAFC, experience and valuable input into many key issues,” Mr Cooper said.
Mr Cooper also paid tribute to retiring Commissioner Peter Coleman, saying he’d made an outstanding contribution to the WAFC since his appointment in 2012.
“Peter is to be congratulated on his commitment and dedication to the WA Football Commission. His contribution will definitely be missed,” Mr Cooper said.
