The WAWFL will host its second competition-wide bye this weekend to allow the 15 senior players selected in the 2014 Women’s AFL Exhibition match to showcase their skills without impacting our competition.

While many senior players, coaches and fans will head to Melbourne for the AFL sanctioned game, Sunday football for the Youth Girls competition will still go ahead in a carnival style day, smartly titled Super Sunday!

Hosted at East Fremantle Oval, the day will be a female football filled event that will showcase the Fremantle Dockers Cup Grand Finals, followed by four WAFC Youth Girls games displaying eight teams within the competition, Coolbinia Bomberettes have a bye.

Starting from 8.10am with a live streaming of the Women’s AFL Exhibition Match on a large screen, the first game of the day will decide the Premiers as Kolbe CC v Mater Dei College in the White Division Grand Final with a 9.30am bounce-down.

Immediately following this will be the Moore Division Grand Final which will see St Brigid’s School take on the St Mary’s AGS at 10.45am.

From noon the WAFC Youth Girls games will take place starting with Swans v Claremont game at 12pm. At 1.30pm Coastal Titans v Joondalup Falcons, 3.00pm Thunderbirds v South Fremantle with the last game of the day at 4:30pm that will see East Fremantle v Perth Angels.

For those needing caffeine to function, a coffee van will be available, with a BBQ also being run throughout the day

In what will be an exciting day of Grand Final football for our schoolgirls, we hope to see as many supporters and stakeholders attend the day to support all teams competing!
