Round 4 WAFL ResultsSaturday, April 12, 2014 - 6:19 PM - by Chris Pike

WEST Perth emphatically won its grand final rematch over East Perth on Saturday while Swan Districts continued its winning form, Subiaco remained unbeaten and East Fremantle bounced back with a big win coming off the bye.

All four matches of the Round 4 WAFL season took place on Saturday afternoon with West Perth beating East Perth 22.17 (149) to 7.7 (49) at Leederville's Medibank Stadium, Swan Districts downing South Fremantle 13.16 (94) at Bassendean's Steel Blue Oval, Subiaco defeating Peel Thunder 16.9 (105) to 13.10 (88) at Mandurah's Bendigo Bank Stadium and East Fremantle beating Claremont 21.11 (137) to 9.8 (62) at East Fremantle Oval.

West Perth recorded its first ever triple-figure victory over East Perth on Saturday ending up beating the previously unbeaten Royals by exactly 100 points in a rematch from the grand final which they also won by 49 points.

The Falcons only led narrowly by five points at quarter-time and by 30 at half-time, but then piled on six goals to nil in the third quarter and another seven to two in the last to end up winning by a massive 100 points.

Anthony Tsalikis booted six goals for West Perth with big man Marcus Adams adding five, Matt Fowler four and Kody Manning three.

Aaron Black also racked up 30 possessions for the Falcons with Andrew Strijk finishing the game with 28, Rohan Kerr 26, Steve Potente 25, Shane Nelson 23, Brayden Antonio 18 and Jay van Berlo 18.

West Coast's Simon Tunbridge was East Perth's only multiple goal scorer with three while Craig Wulff racked up 29 possessions, Brett Dobson 23, Steven Payne 23, Mark Hutchings 22, Julian Locantro 22, Freddie Clutterbuck 20 and Blayne Wilson 18.

East Fremantle won its Round 1 contest over South Fremantle but then lost its next clash in Geraldton to Subiaco before last week's bye, but bounced back emphatically on Saturday beating Claremont at home by 75 points.

Debutant Richard Bourne kicked four goals for the Sharks with Bradd Dalziell putting in a best on ground performance with 30 possessions and four goals.

Jack Perham also booted three goals while Sean Henson kicked two to go with his 20 disposals and Brett Peake kicked two from 24 touches.

Aidan Tropiano also had it 25 times for the Sharks, Rory O'Brien 25, Jamie McNamara 24, Scott Hancock 28 and Cameron Eardley 21.

It was Claremont's second straight heavy loss at East Fremantle Oval with Mark Seaby working hard for 20 touches, 14 hit outs and three goals.

Jack Richardson also kicked two goals with Luke Blackwell racking up 28 possessions, Ryan Neates 22, Andrew Foster 22, Matt Orzel 18 and Tom Taylor 18.

Subiaco continued its unbeaten start to the season beating Peel by 17 points in Mandurah on Saturday with the Lions now the last remaining team yet to taste defeat in 2014.

Again it was an even spread of goal kickers for Subiaco with Matt Boland booting three majors, George Hampson three, Chris Deluca two, Rhys Waters two and Jason Bristow two to go with his 31 possessions.

Chris Phelan also gathered 28 touches, Lachlan Delahunty 24, Kyal Horsley 24, Joel Lathan 23, Shaun Hildebrandt 23, Justin Joyce 20 and ruckman Frank Stockley 18 to go with 26 hit outs and a goal.

Kelvin Lawrence came back into the Thunder team and kicked four goals with Anthony Morabito, Matt Brown and Michael Apeness all adding two apiece.

Liam McKenna racked up 28 possessions for Peel with Morabito adding 23, Tom Sheridan 22, Jack Hannath 22, Alex Silvagni 22, Brendon Jones 21 and Eddie Dann 18.

Swan Districts was predicted by many to struggle in 2014 after a long list of key players departing, but playing on enormous spirit and with a strong band of leaders showing the way for a youthful squad, the black-and-whites have impressed with two wins from three matches.

Swans' back-line led the way against the Bulldogs with Tallan Ames, Justin Simpson, Graham Jetta, Kirk Ugle and Alex Howard outstanding.

Ryan Davis continued his tremendous form with 25 touches and two goals with Matthew Jukes and last week's eight-goal hero Ricky Cary booting three apiece for Swans.

Despite now having lost its first four matches, South Fremantle has only really been outplayed once and that was in last Friday's thumping by East Perth.

In Round 1, South Fremantle wasted its forward forays against Subiaco, in Round 2 it blew a 44-point lead against Perth and now yesterday the Bulldogs again couldn’t make the most of their chances.

However, that doesn’t hide the fact that the Bulldogs are now 0-4 after starting last season 0-7, and now take on the rampaging reigning premiers West Perth.

Haiden Schloithe did all he possibly could for South Fremantle with 38 possessions and two goals with Tim Kelly also finishing with 26 disposals and two goals.

Captain Ryan Cook worked hard for 28 touches with Ashton Hams finishing with 29, Shaun Bewick 22 and Dylan Ross 21 in defence. Nick Borovac also did well in defence holding Tim Geappen to one goal.
