After nearly three months of gruelling and challenging training in extremely high heat, the 2014 State U18 Youth Girls team has been announced. The WAFC congratulates all girls who will represent WA in Canberra, ACT from Friday 2/5/14 to Saturday 10/5/14 at the National U18 Youth Girls AFL Championships.
WAFC Female High Performance Manager Alison Moore congratulated all girls who trialled for the team.
"Especially the State 16’s players who have really stepped up after their historic win in Darwin in 2013," she said.
"They exerted outstanding pressure on their older team mates to retain their place in the side and will compliment the strong base we already had established in 2013. We have one of the most experienced sides WA has ever entered with nearly half of the team being 18 years old and with two to three years State representation behind each of them.
"Head Coach, Michelle Cowan and her team are certain they have the right mix of players this year to bring home the elusive State U18 Youth Girls Cup. Good luck to all players in their final month of preparation."
