Jude and Lynette Sign Up for AFL 9sThursday, December 5, 2013 - 3:16 PM

The AFL has announced Jude Bolton and wife Lynette Carroll-Bolton as national Cadbury AFL 9s ambassadors.

The AFL’s newest game, Cadbury AFL 9s is fast, free-flowing and involves nine players on each team playing on a smaller field, with no tackling, making it suitable for people of any age or skill level.

The AFL 9s competition is national, with over 800 teams currently registered at over 80 venues across the country.

Sydney Swans dual premiership star Jude Bolton said he is excited, along with Lynette to be involved in Cadbury AFL 9s and encouraged others to get on board.

“Cadbury AFL 9s enables people of all ages and ability levels to participate in male, female or mixed competitions that fit around their busy lives and provide an environment where fun, enjoyment and safety are a priority.

“It’s a great way to keep up my fitness now that I’m retired and I love that I can play alongside Lynette.

“Whether you’re a beginner, looking to keep fit and social in the off-season or retired from AFL like me, make sure you give it a try as there is lots of fun to be had.”

With a target of 60,000 participants playing Cadbury AFL 9s by 2016/17, AFL National Development Manager Josh Vanderloo said Jude and Lynette would be excellent ambassadors for the most social form of Australia’s game.

“We are very excited to welcome Jude and Lynette to Cadbury AFL 9s as national ambassadors and look forward to seeing participation figures grow as the game becomes increasingly popular for its fun and social appeal.”
