WAFC a finalist for Pinnacle AwardThursday, November 21, 2013 - 10:57 AM

The West Australian Football Commission has been shortlisted for a 2013 Pinnacle Award for Human Resource Management Excellence in recognition of exceptional management practices at Patersons Stadium.

The overall winner of the award, which is presented by the Australian Institute of Management WA and The West Australian’s WestBusiness, will be announced during a ceremony at Crown Perth on November 28.

Patersons Stadium General Manager, Gavin Taylor, said the WAFC was delighted to be named as an award finalist.

“It’s great recognition for the management practices we have implemented at Patersons Stadium to ensure the West Australian Football Commission continues to be WA’s leading stadium manager,” Mr Taylor said.

“This has included a comprehensive training and induction program for all staff to ensure the highest level of customer service, health and safety protection, and knowledge of emergency management procedures.

“This allows us to continually improve our world-class management services for the operation of the stadium, whilst meeting stakeholder expectations and the financial objectives of the WAFC,” he said.

The income generated by the WAFC in its role as stadium manager is reinvested into football in WA to ensure the sport is self-sustaining. This model provides a strong incentive for the WAFC to provide effective and cost-efficient stadium management services.
