The Manjimup Tigers Sporting & Football Club has joined the gold rush as one of a host of clubs to recently achieve Gold Accreditation in the Swisse Quality Club Program.
The Swisse Quality Club Program aims to assist clubs in reaching a level of excellence in administration and delivering community benefits.
The program not only recognises and rewards clubs, but makes clubs more attractive to participants, assists in gaining grants and sponsorship, minimises risk and provides best practice roles for committee members.
The Manjimup Tigers have teams from Auskick through to seniors and play at their local ground of Rae Park in Manjimup.
This year they topped off a strong season in the Lower South West Football League to win a league grand final on their home ground for the first time.
The Tigers have also contributed to the community off the field by implementing a disability action plan and providing a resuscitation first aid course to not only their players but volunteers as well. They also have a strong partnership with the Warren Agricultural Society and the annual agricultural show in Manjimup.
As a result of the hard work of volunteers such as club secretary Sarah Edwards, Manjimup has become the first gold accredited club in the South West region.
Edwards said the program had assisted the club in creating a strong strategic plan and made it much easier to apply for grants.
“As a result of our programs, our club is now a leader in the Manjimup community” she said.
The Swisse Quality Club program offers three levels of accreditation starting with Bronze to recognise good club administration.
