2025 WAFLW season review : ClaremontTuesday, October 21, 2025 - 2:41 PM

Claremont’s dominant performance in 2025 was no surprise to those who have watched them over the last few years, having now won three of the past four Grand Finals, including this year’s nail biting victory over Swan Districts.

The Tigers didn’t lose a game until the Bulldogs in Round 14.

Claremont dropped a second straight game in round 15 to East Fremantle but got back on track with three consecutive victories to finish the year, including a dominant performance over fellow flag contenders Subiaco in the final round of the season to finish 13-2-1 for the year.

Week one of the finals produced high drama.

Claremont was trailing the Lions before a last-second free kick allowed them to send the game into extra time.

Their one-point extra time triumph advanced the Tigers into their fourth straight Grand Final.

Season 2025 was led by prolific talents Matilda Sergeant, Jayme Harken, Sarah Viney and young superstar Juliet Kelly who each averaged more than 20 disposals per game.

There was no standout in front of goals, but five individuals booted over 10 goals this season, more than any other WAFLW side.

The Tigers entered Grand Final day as favourites and ended an epic decider with a courageous one-point win over Swans, despite being held scoreless in the final quarter.

Viney was crowned the Tigers fairest-and-best winner for 2025.
