Western Australia's State 16s teams both finished with impressive wins at the 2013 NAB AFL National 16s Championships at Blacktown, NSW last weekend.
WA’s Division 1 team defeated Victoria Metro by 19 points, while the Division 3 WA North West side signed off with a convincing 84-point win over the South Pacific.
WA was aiming for back-to-back titles in both divisions after an outstanding effort in 2012 when the state was represented for the first time across two divisions.
However, two losses in Division 1 and a narrow 10-point loss in Division 3 to eventual champions, The World XVIII, saw WA’s sides unable to defend their respective titles.
Kade Stewart, pictured, from South Fremantle was named WA’s MVP in Division 1, while WA North West’s Sam Seton (Halls Creek) was the Division 3 MVP.
Seton also won the Mark Browning Medal, presented to the overall Division 3 best and fairest.
