PEEL Thunder made a statement in WAFL Round 18 to stay top and keep Claremont out of the top five while East Perth, Swan Districts and East Fremantle consolidated their finals positions, and Perth got out of bottom spot.

Perth prevailed in the battle of the Mineral Resources Park co-tenants to get out of bottom spot with the 13.16 (94) to 6.10 (46) win against the West Coast Eagles.

Aaron Clarke kicked five goals for the Demons and Charlie Constable amassed 39 possessions and Corey Byrne 35. Harley Sparks had 25 disposals for the Eagles.

East Perth had to do it tough and lost Hamish Brayshaw and Scott Jones to injury along the way, but maintained second spot with the 10.7 (67) to 6.13 (49) derby win over West Perth at Sullivan Logistics Stadium.

Mitch Crowden had 36 possessions for the Royals, James Sturrock 33, Kye Willcocks 31 and Stan Wright 31. Keegan Knott kicked four goals for the Falcons with Luke Meadows had 35 touches and Shane Nelson 30.

Peel Thunder maintained its hold on top spot with 10 goals to five in the second half for the 17.10 (112) to 11.11 (77) victory at Lane Group Stadium over a Claremont team remaining in sixth spot.

Scott Tuia kicked four goals for Peel and Will Brodie racked up 38 possessions with Alex Manuel kicking three goals for the Tigers and Jye Bolton gathering 28 disposals.

Swan Districts had to fight hard but kicked seven goals to two in the second half to score the 13.10 (88) to 10.8 (68) win at Steel Blue Oval over Subiaco to remain unbeaten in their last nine games.

Luke Kelly, Leigh Kohlmann and Tom Edwards all kicked three goals for Swans with Nik Rokahr amassing 42 possessions and Aidan Clarke 30.

Ryan Borchet kicked another four goals for the Lions.

South Fremantle might have won 16 of the past 17 derbies, but East Fremantle made a statement at Fremantle Community Bank Oval with the reigning premiers winning 17.16 (118) to 7.10 (52) to consolidate fourth place.

Cam Eardley went forward to kick four goals for the Sharks as did Dillon O'Reilly with Milan Murdock racking up 26 touches.

Zac Strom had 24 possessions, 21 hit outs and 13 marks for the Bulldogs.
