Nominations for the 2024 West Australian Football Facility Award are now open.
In its second year, the annual Award recognises the best practice in community football facility development across the state.
The award aims to promote and celebrate the provision of well positioned, welcoming, accessible, fit for purpose football facilities that support our growing game’s strategic priorities.
Western Australia’s winning project will be nominated for the National AFL Ken Gannon Community Football Facilities Awards.
Steven Rose, West Australian Football Commission Manager Facilities & Government Relations, has declared the standard of nominations in 2023 as outstanding.
“The WA Football Facility of the Year award is highly competitive and seen two of the last three WA winners going on to win the National AFL Ken Gannon Community Football Facilities Award,” Rose said.
“The Award provides WA clubs and councils the opportunity to highlight best practice football facility developments over the past 12 months.”
To be eligible the project must have direct links and benefit to an Australian Rules Football club in Western Australia and should deliver one or more of the following WAFC Strategic Facility Targets:
• Lighting – Provide a minimum 50 lux lighting at all ovals.

• New Facilities - Partner with government to deliver new ovals and amenities in growth areas.
