THERE might have been just three games in the WAFL for Round 15, but they all proved fascinating with the West Coast Eagles heaping more pain on West Perth, East Fremantle back into the top five and Swan Districts winning to celebrate Tony Notte and Jesse Turner.
With East Perth, Perth, South Fremantle and Subiaco having the bye in Round 15, the other six teams were in action on Saturday afternoon and put together some exciting action with the wins for the Eagles, Sharks and Swans.
First up was two teams desperate for a win and West Coast got their wish with the 17.12 (114) to 16.10 (106) victory against West Perth in a high scoring affair at Mineral Resources Park.
Archer Reid kicked three goals for West Coast and Jack Darling played against his original WAFL club kicking two with Dom Sheed racking up 31 touches. Tyler Keitel kicked another six goals for the Falcons and Shane Nelson had 33 possessions.
It was then a Grand Final rematch at Lane Group Stadium and East Fremantle made it consecutive wins to move up to fourth position with the 13.11 (89) to 10.6 (66) win against the league-leading Peel Thunder.
Jono Marsh kicked four goals for the Sharks and Milan Murdock and Kyle Baskerville had 29 possessions each. Matt Taberner kicked three goals for Peel and Karl Worner picked up 22 disposals.
The two hottest teams in the league then locked horns at Steel Blue Oval and Swan Districts won a thriller 12.10 (82) to 10.15 (75) over Claremont thanks to the late go ahead score from Aidan Clarke to celebrate Tony Notte equalling Bill Walker's games record and Jesse Turner's 150th game.
Leigh Kohlmann kicked another four goals for Swans with Nik Rokahr picking up 32 possessions as did Jye Chalcraft. Alec Waterman kicked three goals for Claremont and Callan England collected 31 disposals.
