TOM Edwards continued to show he's a man for the big moments with the winning goal on Saturday for Swan Districts while Claremont continued its WAFL emergence with wins also for Peel Thunder and South Fremantle.
There were four games in Round 12 of the WAFL on Saturday with East Fremantle and Subiaco having the bye, and it was thrilling wins for Swan Districts and Peel Thunder while Claremont continued its winning run and South Fremantle hit back.
The round got underway at Fremantle Community Bank Oval with South Fremantle in control from the outset against the West Coast Eagles to score the 13.11 (89) to 5.6 (36) win to remain solid in third spot at 7-3.
Isiah Winder had 28 possessions and two goals for the Bulldogs with Matthew Parker racking up 40 disposals. Zane Trew had 32 disposals for the Eagles.
Next up and it was a cracking contest at Steel Blue Oval with plenty of twists and turns, but ultimately it was Tom Edwards kicking the game winner just before the siren as Swan Districts beat East Perth 12.7 (79) to 11.12 (78).
It's four straight wins now to see Swans into fourth spot at 6-4 with Edwards kicking a career-best six goals while Jye Chalcraft racked up 30 possessions. Stan Wright had 25 possessions for the Royals in his 98th game.
Claremont then shook off a goalless first quarter with six goals to two in the second term to set up the 8.13 (61) to 6.6 (42) win against Perth at Revo Fitness Stadium with the Tigers improving to 5-5 with three straight wins.
Jye Bolton and Callan England both had 33 possessions for the sixth placed Tigers while Charlie Thompson had 28 touches for a Demons team having now lost seven in-a-row.
The round then wrapped up at Pentanet Stadium and it was another thriller with Patrick Voss kicking four goals including the sealer as Peel Thunder beat West Perth 12.8 (80) to 11.10 (76).
Peel is now a game and percentage clear on top with Brady Grey and Ben Hancock collecting 20 possessions. Noah Pegoraro kicked three goals for West Perth before going back and Shane Nelson racked up another 31 possessions in his 236th game.
