LAST year's grand finalists East Fremantle and Peel Thunder scored commanding Round 11 WAFL wins while Swan Districts beat South Fremantle for the inaugural John Todd Memorial Cup.
There were just the three games in Round 11 of the WAFL season over the weekend with Claremont, East Perth, West Coast and West Perth having the bye.
The three games that did take place saw statements being made by the winning teams beginning with Peel Thunder beating Perth 12.12 (84) to 5.10 (40) at Lane Group Stadium.
Nathan Wilson continued to enjoy his move forward with five goals for Peel with captain Ben Hancock racking up 37 touches.
Aaron Clarke returned to kick two goals for the Demons and Corey Byrne had 36 disposals.
The other game on Saturday took place at Steel Blue Oval with Swan Districts and South Fremantle paying tribute to the legendary John Todd following his passing last week having coached both clubs to premierships.
The clubs have been playing for the cup named in his honour since 1999, but that has now become the John Todd Memorial Cup and it was Swan Districts who retained it with the 10.12 (72) to 6.9 (45) victory against South Fremantle.
Brad Lynch kicked four goals for Swans and Jackson McLachlan three as Nik Rokahr had another 29 disposals.
Zac Strom kicked three goals for the Bulldogs and Haiden Schloithe had 31 possessions.
The last game of the round took place on Sunday with East Fremantle making a statement and continuing to build some ominous momentum with the 17.14 (116) to 4.6 (30) win against Subiaco at Revo Fitness Stadium.
Jono Marsh and Jed Hagan kicked five goals each for the Sharks and Milan Murdock had another 33 possessions.
Liam Hickmott had another 23 possessions for Subiaco and captain Greg Clark 19 to go with 14 tackles.
