PEEL Thunder is fresh off its first win of the WAFLW season and now face the challenge of the on-fire reigning premiers East Fremantle this Saturday as part of the Round 12 action.

Round 12 of the WAFLW season will see all four matches take place on Saturday afternoon as the race for the finals heats up.

It's a first against third battle at Revo Fitness Stadium with Claremont playing host to West Perth.

The Tigers need to keep winning to maintain top spot while the Falcons also need the victory to maintain their hold on third place setting up a fascinating contest.

Next up is the battle of Sullivan Logistics Stadium co-tenants with Subiaco playing East Perth. The Lions are looking to back up last week's win against Swan Districts to stay in the finals hunt while the Royals are out to hit back from a loss to Peel Thunder.

The two teams fighting over fourth position right now then meet at Steel Blue Oval with Swan Districts at home to South Fremantle. Both teams come into the match up on identical 4-5 records with the Bulldogs only currently sitting fourth courtesy of percentage.

That leads into Peel Thunder playing host to East Fremantle at Mandurah's Lane Group Stadium.

It has been a tough season so far for the Thunder having lost their opening eight matches, but they had a breakthrough win last week with the 19-point triumph against East Perth.

Peel will now attempt to back that up on home turf against East Fremantle this Saturday, but it won't be easy with the Sharks on a six-game winning streak as reigning premiers to be just percentage off top spot.

Thunder coach Ethan Norris was glad last week for his team to get rewards for their efforts, but knows what a challenge East Fremantle will be.

"The mood was pretty ecstatic after the game and every single person on the field performed for us," Norris said.

"It's reward for effort, it's week 25 for us since we started pre-season and the games so we finally got the reward we've been looking for.

"East Fremantle is another big challenge, last year's premiers and probably on their wing they've got the No. 1 draft pick (Zippy Fish) for this year.

"The message this week is we can do it, we've proven that we can actually put a solid game together."
