THE BIG WINNERS

All four winners over Saturday and Sunday in Round 13 action were crucial.

Claremont improved to an 11-1 record to be four wins clear on top of the ladder with its 15.12 (102) to 7.7 (49) win over Peel at Claremont Oval that was set up by the only six goals of the first quarter.

West Perth moved a game and percentage clear in second position with its 12.11 (83) to 10.9 (69) win over East Fremantle at East Fremantle Oval.

East Perth climbed to third spot on the table at 6-5 with its fourth win in five games beating Perth 15.11 (101) to 12.11 (83) at Lathlain's Brownes Stadium on Sunday.

Swan Districts has now won two straight as well to improve to a 5-5 record to sit in fifth position just behind Perth on percentage after downing Subiaco 20.10 (130) to 12.11 (83) at Leederville's Medibank Stadium on Saturday.

THE BIG LOSERS

Just like all four winners on the weekend either consolidated spots or jumped up, the four losers in Round 13 suffered the consequences as well.

After such an impressive start to the season, Perth has now dropped to a 5-5 record having lost three straight matches, and four of its last five to only be holding onto a spot in the top-four by percentage.

East Fremantle has now put in four disappointing performances in its last five games. Prior to its Foxtel Cup win in Adelaide, the Sharks lost to West Perth and Claremont, and then put in a stinker in the Foundation Derby.

They did hit back with a good performance against Peel, but then on Sunday went down again at home to West Perth to drop to a 5-6 record and to sixth spot on the ladder.

Subiaco had been in terrific form winning three straight matches but didn’t fire a shot against Swan Districts in the first half to fall to a 5-6 record and to seventh position.

Peel might now be all but out of finals contention as well after not scoring against Claremont in the first quarter to fall to 3-8 and remain anchored to second last position.
