The annual EGT Colts Super Round will feature four consecutive matches at Joondalup’s Pentanet Stadium on Saturday.
Recruiters from around Australia will monitor the progress of potential draftees as the WAFL showcases its Talent Pathway Program.
With some of the best local talent playing at the same venue on the same day, the Colts Super Round is one of the key attractions of the season.
The day begins at 9.15am with Claremont playing Swan Districts.
It will continue at 11.45am with South Fremantle facing Perth, before Subiaco confronting East Fremantle at 2.15pm and West Perth goes head-to-head with Peel Thunder to complete Round 6.
The Super Round concept has the support of WAFL football managers, player development officers and colts coaches since its introduction in 2011.
The Colts Super Round concept allows AFL recruiters the opportunity to see all four Colts games on the same weekend.
The first match sees reigning premiers Claremont up against the fourth placed Swan Districts.
The ladder leading Tigers are coming off the bye, while the black and whites went down by 18 points to East Fremantle last weekend.
In their last outing, the Tigers took care of Subiaco with Bailey Banfield collecting 28 possessions and Jaxon Douglas prominent with 26 touches.
Then it’s the Demons and the Bulldogs.
Perth is coming off an impressive victory over East Perth with Robert Warrell kicking five goals and Jadd Hill picking up 32 disposals to earn the Round 5 EGT Bright Light nomination.
South Fremantle are winless after three games.
The third game features Subiaco and East Fremantle.
The Lions are two wins from four matches to sit just outside the top five and are coming off the bye.
The Sharks were too good for Swans in Round 5 as Declan Pauline gathered 28 disposals, Luke Carrello 26, and Elijah Stockden 25 touches in the 18-point result.
The final match at 4.45pm brings together two clubs with just one win between them this year.
West Perth and Peel Thunder have been slow to kickstart their 2024 campaigns.
The Falcons brought up their first triumph with a 40-point win over South Fremantle in Round 5, with Jacob Farrow amassing 24 disposals, and Sam Swadling kicking three goals.
Peel hasn’t played since April 12 when they suffered a 13-point defeat to the Royals with Jaden Funazzi having 29 disposals for the Thunder and kicking a goal.
The Thunder remains winless from three matches.
On that day Jaden Funazzi had 29 disposals for the Thunder and kicked a goal.
WAFC State Talent Manager Adam Jones has declared the EGT Colts Super Round one of the highlights of the home and away season.
“Playing all four colts games on the same day at the same venue gives us the opportunity to showcase our best talent with many recruiters coming from the east for the weekend," Jones said.
