A final squad has been named for Saturday’s historic match between the WAFLW State team and South Australia at Optus Stadium.
WA’s selectors have reduced the list from 34 to 25 for the clash against the visitors, which will be a curtain-raiser to the AFL match between the West Coast Eagles and Essendon.
State coach Jack Schwarze believes the match shapes as an even contest.
“South Australia are very similar to us in their style of play and the way they use the large ovals,” he said.
“They played a selection game which I have been able to watch and take notes.
“I am not too focused on their individuals just yet as we will not be picking players necessarily to match up on them, but I am aware of a few.
“I am more focused on their style of play, and I think it’s going to come down to which team can get it right on the day.”
The match between WA and SA begins at Optus Stadium at 3.15pm on Saturday and can be live streamed on Streamer
