Three WA players have been selected to represent Australia as part of the Marsh AFL Academy Girls side which will play an U23 All-Stars team in Melbourne on Saturday.

Zipporah Fish from East Fremantle, South Fremantle’s Molly O’Hehir and Claremont’s Claudia Wright have been selected in the Under 18s line up.

Trent Cooper, Manager Female Talent Programs and Coaching Specialist at the
West Australian Football Commission, believes it’s a terrific opportunity for the WA based players.

“Zippy, Molly and Claudia have all been playing extremely well in the WAFLW competition after taking part in a full pre-season with State Academy Summer Program,” Cooper said.

“This weekend will give them the chance to train alongside the best players of their age in Australia and then play together against a strong U23 line-up.

“This will give them a chance to showcase their talent as well as further understand what they will need to do to perform at the next level.”
