ROUND 4 of the WAFLW season is split across the weekend with West Perth and Claremont looking to remain undefeated, East Perth with the challenge ahead and Swan Districts attempting to make it three consecutive victories.

Three of the four Round 4 WAFLW match ups take place across Saturday afternoon with East Fremantle taking on Swan Districts, West Perth playing South Fremantle and East Perth hosting Claremont before Subiaco is also at home to Peel Thunder on Sunday.

The round gets underway with the Sharks taking on Swans on Saturday at Fremantle Community Bank Oval with both teams entering the contest with two wins and a loss from the first three rounds.

East Fremantle's premiership defence started with wins against South Fremantle and Subiaco before then going down in a grand final rematch to Claremont last weekend.

Swan Districts, meanwhile, lost first up in a tight affair to Claremont but have since been impressive in wins against East Perth and Peel Thunder.

East Fremantle has added Serena Gibbs, Jasmine Johansen, Maya Louvel-Finn, Brooke Repacholi, Tiani Teakle and Reini Tutuki to its squad while Samara Pluschke and Larissa Versaci go out.

Swan Districts has added Luka Davis, Brianna Hyde, Emily McGuire, Tierrah Miller and Ava Stewart to its squad with Hannah Plummer the only out at this stage.

Also on Saturday, West Perth will put its perfect record on the line up against South Fremantle at Joondalup's Pentanet Stadium.

The Falcons have been improving each of their WAFLW seasons and have now started 2024 with wins against Peel Thunder, East Perth and Subiaco while the Bulldogs recorded their first win of the season last week over East Perth following first up defeats to East Fremantle and Claremont.

West Perth has made five changes to its team with Teal Bennett, Sarah Kirkbride, Nadia Parora, Samara Sallie and Bianca Webb the inclusions with Kenleigh Duve, Stacey Francis-Bayman, Ruby Freeman, Megan Norbury and Jessica Roper going out.

South Fremantle has brought in Tanika Bradley, Holly Ifould, Tahleah Mulder and Shannyn Pomersbach to the squad that beat East Perth last Saturday.

The last game on Saturday takes place at Leederville's Sullivan Logistics Stadium with East Perth and Claremont locking horns.

The job is ahead of the Royals who are still yet to win a game in the WAFLW but they did put in a spirited performance last week against South Fremantle even hitting the front in the third quarter.

Coming up against the Tigers is a significant test, though, with Claremont undefeated so far this season and still not having lost a WAFLW home and away season game since the end of the 2022 season.

East Perth has made five changes hunting that first win with Emily Boothman, Jorja Elisseou, Courtney Lindgren, Alessia Schmiedgen and Julia Uhe coming into the team.

Going out for the Royals are Gabrielle Canicosa, Hannah Challender, Kayley Kavanagh, Havana Milner and Jess Verbrugge.

Coming into the Claremont squad is captain Adele Arnup along with Jenna Hawker, Tazma Hutson, Emma Linton, Abby Maynard and Amalie Moe.

Going out are Jessica Low and Mackenzie Webb.

The round then wraps up on Sunday afternoon also at Sullivan Logistics Stadium with two teams needing a win as Subiaco is at home to Peel Thunder.

Subiaco has beaten East Perth this season but the Lions have lost their other two games to East Fremantle and West Perth while Peel is winless so far in 2024 following defeats to West Perth, Swan Districts and South Fremantle.

There are four changes for Subiaco as the Lions look to get back to winning with Joanne Cregg, Tess Lyons, Jess Pillera and Leila Rowe into the team. Going out are Holly Morris, Charlotte Newland, Mikayla Smith and Isabelle Starmer.

Peel has brought in Holly Coomey, Jessica Jones, Kristen Rudler, Dakota Sexton and Charlize Thompson to the squad with Caitlin Cooper the only out so far.

Meanwhile, Round 4 of the Rogers Cup gets underway on Friday night at Lathlain's Mineral Resources Park with Perth taking on Claremont.

There are two games on Saturday afternoon with East Fremantle playing Swan Districts at Fremantle Community Bank Oval, and West Perth taking on South Fremantle at Pentanet Stadium.

The round wraps up on Sunday afternoon with Subiaco playing Peel Thunder at Sullivan Logistics Stadium.
