Electrical Group Training has expanded its support for the game in WA in a move which has been welcomed by the West Australian Football Commission and Perth Football League. 

The largest employer of electrical apprentices in the state, EGT has re-signed with the WAFC for a further three years after an initial term of two years. 

The new agreement will see a further expansion of the partnership with EGT now powering the next generation as the naming rights partner to the WAFL and Perth Football League (PFL) colts competition. 

The leagues will now be referred to as the EGT WAFL Colts Premiership Season with EGT to be featured at the beginning of each PFL colts competition name, for example, EGT Phil Scott Colts.  

EGT will remain a major partner of the WAFL & WAFLW as the company looks to assist local footballers create a pathway beyond football. 

WAFC Chief Executive Michael Roberts is delighted EGT is continuing its commitment to the game in WA. 

“The EGT WAFL Colts Competition is growing in profile every season with AFL talent scouts watching matches every week with an eye to the National Draft,” Roberts said. 

“To have EGT on board is a wonderful endorsement of the competition.” 

Perth Football League CEO Andrew Dawe has applauded EGT’s decision to support the largest colts aged group community football competition in the state. 

“We are proud to have EGT on board as our Major Partner for the Colts competition and look forward to working them to ensure the partnership achieves mutually beneficial outcomes,” 

“This is the first year of a deal which we hope becomes a long and successful partnership for all parties.” 

EGT is also linked to other football initiatives in 2024. 

• The continuation of the EGT Goal of the Year 

• The opportunity for WAFL Colts players to have the playing fees paid should they sign up as an EGT apprentice. 

• An introduction of the WAFC Careers Expo. 

• The development of an Indigenous Pathway Working Group to assist the recruitment process of First Nations apprentices.  

EGT Chief Executive Carl Copeland believes the deal will produce several positives.
