Burley will continue its long-standing tradition as the official football of Western Australia after signing a new deal with the West Australian Football Commission.
The contract includes competitions across the state such as the WAFL, Juniors, PFL, CFWA, Metro and Masters competitions.
Burley has been the exclusive supplier of footballs to the WAFL since 1921.
WAFC Chief Executive Michael Roberts welcomed the deal, which will be in place for up to five years.
Burley has been synonymous with football in this state for more than a century and the company aligns with our vision of ensuring the game is for all West Australians.”
“Generations of WA kids have grown up with a Burley in their hands and we’re delighted to continue the association.”
Burley Sekem Managing Director Ed Cunningham said: “The Burley Sekem business has always been closely intertwined with the fabric of Australian Rules football in WA and it is entirely appropriate that we continue to re-invest in the sport.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled to renew our Burley Football partnership with the WAFC, a partnership that started over 100 years ago and enables local manufacturing in Perth to continue.
“We thank the WAFC for their support and look forward to working with all their stakeholders to ensure a mutually beneficial outcome.”
As part of the agreement, Burley will also have naming rights to the Burley Half Time Long Bomb competition, a new initiative to be staged during the WAFL Colts Grand Final.
