Associated and Catholic Colleges of WA (ACC) claimed a 19-point victory over School Sport WA (SSWA) in the grand final of the 2023 Inter-association Boys’ All-Stars match.
The game, featuring the best senior schoolboys (Year 10-12) from both ACC and SSWA, unfolded at the iconic Fremantle Oval, in hot conditions.
The selection of these exceptional young talents occurred during the Eagles Senior Schoolboys Cup, which took place during Term 2 of the school year. The competition provided the perfect stage for coaching staff to spot the emerging stars of Western Australian schoolboys football.
The highly skillful game saw Zane Triscari (ACC) receive best on ground honours, while Decline Pauline (ACC) and Deian Roberts (SSWA) both won the Coach’s Award. Adding to the excitement of the day, the awards were presented by West Coast Eagles player Elijah Hewitt.

Associated and Catholic Colleges of WA (ACC) made a resounding statement at this year’s Inter-association Girls’ All-Star Carnival, remaining undefeated and securing the title.
ACC had a terrific carnival defeating Independent Girls Schools Sports Association (IGSSA) and School Sport WA (SSWA).
Supported by the Fremantle Football Club and the West Australian Football Commission, this competition has become the premier football event for female schools since its inception in 2021.
Zippy Fish was a standout at the carnival, her exceptional skills, agility and contribution to her team didn’t go unnoticed, with her being awarded the Most Valuable Player of the carnival. Fremantle AFLW coach Lisa Webb was on hand to present the MVP award.
It caps off a stellar year for Fish who won the 2023 WAFLW premiership with East Fremantle and claimed the Lou Knitter Medal for her best on ground performance.

The carnival also recognised three other talented players. Chelsea Hutchinson (ACC), Riley Fisher (SSWA) and Ella Slocombe (IGSSA) were awarded the Coach’s Award. Their efforts impressed their representative coaches, earning them a signed jumper presented by Fremantle AFLW players Tara Stribley, Madeleine Scanlon and Olagh Lally.

SEDA College has once again proven their dominance in schoolgirl football by clinching the Grand Final of the Freo Dockers Cup - Moore Division.
The thrilling match took place at Perth’s home of football – Optus Stadium and was a day that the players from both SEDA College and Governor Stirling Senior High School will remember for years to come.
Coached by former Fremantle AFLW player Kara Antonio, SEDA College fought out a close game to claim an eight-point victory.
SEDA’s back-to-back wins in the Grand Finals of the Freo Dockers Cup - Moore Division are a remarkable feat and underscore their position as a formidable force in schoolgirl football.
Playing at Optus Stadium as a curtain-raiser to the Fremantle vs. Port Adelaide match was a unique and unforgettable experience for the players, giving them a taste of the big league.
The Freo Dockers Cup, now in its 28th year, holds a significant place in the development and promotion of women's football in Western Australia.
The Cup is a schoolgirls' competition catering to students from Years 10 to 12, and this year saw four schools participate in the Moore Division.
The Freo Dockers Cup also recognised individual excellence and sportsmanship. Millie Edgar from SEDA College was honored with the Coach's Award for her outstanding efforts during the grand final.
On the other team, Ava Stewart from Governor Stirling Senior High School received the Coach's Award for the second consecutive year, showcasing her consistency and skill in the game.
WAFC School Specialist, Regan Atkinson congratulated the participating schools.
“We saw almost 50 schools and over 1,000 participants play in the Freo Dockers Cup this year, with divisions running all over the state,” Atkinson said.
“Thanks to the Fremantle Football Club for their continued support for the Freo Dockers Cup, and we look forward to continuing this partnership in the years to come.”

Comet Bay College edged out Sacred Heart College to claim a 15-point victory in the Eagles Schoolboys Cup – Waalitj Division Grand Final.
The back-to-back win takes Comet Bay’s Eagles Schoolboys Cup titles to five.
The game was hotly contested with a one-point difference separating the two schools at half time and three-quarter time, before Comet Bay kicked an extra two goals in the last quarter.
Comet Bay’s Joel Mildwaters had a standout performance, awarded the Ross Davis Medal for best on ground, while the Coach’s Awards went to Jacob Rotondella (Comet Bay) and Harrison Gilford (Sacred Heart).
Run by the West Australian Football Commission with the support from the West Coast Eagles, the competition is for Year 8 and 9 schoolboys, with 10 schools taking part this year in the Waalitj Division.
WAFC Schools Specialist, Regan Atkinson said 2023 was another successful season and thanked the West Coast Eagles for their continued support.
“It was wonderful to see the Waalitj Division Grand Final return to Optus Stadium, for the first time since 2019,” Atkinson said.
“We saw over 110 schools participate across both metropolitan and regional West Coast Eagles Schoolboys Cup competitions,” Atkinson said.
"It’s fantastic to see the opportunities this competition provides to Year 8 and 9 schoolboys to represent their school and credit must go to the teachers who continue to support this competition, which has been running for over 40 years.”
