Design A Jumper WinnersTuesday, May 14, 2013 - 7:43 AM

The WA Football Commission in conjunction with Burley Sekem is very excited to announce the winning schools of the Burley Sekem Design a Football Jumper competition for 2013.

This year a record number of fantastic entries from schools from around the state took part in the competition which involved designing an Australian Rules football jumper reflecting the ethos of the school,  taking into account other aspects of the community such as local landmarks, location of school, cultural influences and sporting involvement.

The entries were voted on by a judging panel with the winners as follows:

Metro schools winner - Pickering Brook Primary School.

Country schools winner - Corrigin District High School.

Burley Sekem will produce a set of 20 playing jumpers for each of the 2 schools in the winning designs on behalf of the WAFC and Burley Sekem.

Jennifer Jenaway from the WA Football Commission stated "We hope Pickering Brook Primary School and Corrigin District High School wear the jumpers with pride for many years to come".

"Both designs truly reflect the culture and ethos of the respective schools and offer their football teams the opportunity to promote their schools’ identity each time they play".

Formal presentations will be conducted with WA Football Commission District Development Staff when the completed jumpers arrive.

Well done to all participating schools and congratulations to both of the winning schools.
