The Simpson family hails from the wheatbelt town of Quairading.

Brendon has business interests in Kalgoorlie as well as a long-term involvement with the WA Country state team program as a selector.

Ian is a well-known and long-term senior administrator within the Central Wheatbelt Football League and chairs the Country Football Community Advisory Committee, which is chartered with directing CFWA’s industry leading Mental Health and Wellbeing programs.

Simpson has been a board member since 2020 and Stanley continues in the position he has held since 2018, after first being elected to the Board in 2015

The governing body’s new appointments coincide with the governance model reforms and rebranding from the West Australian Country Football League to CFWA over the last 18 months.

Tom Bottrell, Executive Manager Country Football, Affiliates & Facilities at the West Australian Football Commission, has explained how the new leadership group will help grow the game in regional areas.

“The new Country Football WA governance model will see over 27,500 junior and senior participants being supported in a streamlined board and staffing model,” Bottrell said.

“CFWA is now the largest community football governing body within the WA football landscape and the new Board looks forward to supporting all of the football network in regional WA.”

Outgoing President John Shadbolt did not renominate but will remain on the Board for the remainder of his 2-year term.
