The WA Youth Girls kick of their National Championships campaign today in Shepparton, Victoria as they take on a combined SA/NT team at midday (WST) today. WA finished third in 2012 and will be looking to improve on that result when the finals are decided on Friday.
Now in its fourth year the Youth Girls National Championships comprise teams from WA, Queensland, SA/NT, Vic Metro, Vic Country/Tas and NSW/ACT. Victoria will enter two teams for the first time (Country & Metro), the previous combined side has won all three of the Championships to date.
Assistant coach Allana Dickie has said WA are primed to take home the title in 2013 "This is a fantastic group of young players who have the ability to take it right up to all the other teams. After last year’s result they are focussed on improvement and consistency and are confident they will be the first team to take the Championship away from the Vics".
