Ellenbrook Dockers Junior Football Club took centre stage last weekend as they proudly unveiled their much-anticipated Multicultural Jumper during a vibrant Multicultural Round celebration. 

The club's commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion was on full display as the newly designed jersey was worn by their Year 7-8 Girls and Year 10 Boys teams. 

The newly designed jumpers read ‘One Club – One Family’ written in 19 different languages. 

With over 25 per cent of its participants either born overseas or having parents born abroad, the Ellenbrook Junior Football Club has become a shining example of multiculturalism within community football. 

The Ellenbrook region itself boasts an impressive array of people from diverse cultural backgrounds, making the club's commitment to reflecting this diversity even more relevant and significant.

The unveiling of the Multicultural Jumper was met with overwhelming enthusiasm from players, coaches, and supporters alike.

Club president, Jack Versaci, expressed his pride and excitement at the event.

"Our Multicultural Round celebration is a testament to the values we hold dear at Ellenbrook Dockers Junior Football Club," Versaci said.

"We embrace diversity, and through this special jumper, we aim to inspire an environment where everyone feels welcome and respected."

The Multicultural Jumper is the first of its kind produced in many years within the metro region, setting an inspiring example for other clubs to follow.

Ellenbrook Dockers Junior Football Club hopes that this initiative will spark a broader movement in promoting multiculturalism and inclusion in grassroots sports. 

Metro Central Chair, Travis Burrows congratulated the Ellenbrook Junior Football Club committee.

“We commend the Ellenbrook Junior Football Club on the launch of their new Multicultural Jumper and the successful Multicultural Round celebration," Burrows said.

"It is inspiring to witness a club in our conference embrace diversity and promote inclusion in such a fantastic manner."

In addition to the game itself, the Multicultural Round featured a range of activities and cultural displays, including traditional music, dance performances, and a delightful array of international cuisine, providing a platform for participants and their families to share and celebrate their heritage.
