The WA Football Commission will host four more NAB AFL Auskick Gala Days this weekend in a bid to increase participation.
This follows two successful Gala Days by West Perth and Swan Districts over the weekend which saw more than 1200 kids take part in skills-based activities.
Subiaco Gala Day will be held on Saturday August 5, before Peel, South Fremantle and East Perth host their Gala Days on Sunday August 6.
WAFC Head of Participation Andrew Ridley encouraged parents and children to join the fun.
“NAB AFL Auskick is the best way to introduce kids to the great game of Aussie Rules Football,” Ridley said.
“It’s all about enjoying the experience, having fun with your mates and constantly being involved in exciting activities.
“The Gala Days celebrate what our NAB AFL Auskickers have learnt through the footy season.”
This festival environment offers young Auskick players the chance to play modified matches against other district clubs for the first time.
Auskick offers an inclusive environment for boys and girls aged between 5 and 8 with varying skill levels.
“The look on the faces of the kids is what this event is all about.
“Events such as the NAB AFL Auskick Gala Day are all about creating memories, positive experiences, and a lifelong love of our game.
“This is where the football journey starts for a lot of players,” said Ridley.
