In a remarkable show of support, more than 1000 hard-working football volunteers have been nominated for the prestigious Rio Tinto Volunteer of the Year Program.

From grassroots initiatives to professional leagues, volunteers are the unsung heroes who selflessly dedicate their time, energy, and passion to make the sport possible at all levels.  

Their unwavering commitment and countless hours of service are crucial to the success of these endeavours. 

Our great game owes much of its success to the tireless efforts of volunteers. 

From team managers to trainers, umpires to canteen workers, these individuals are the backbone of local clubs, ensuring the smooth operation of training sessions, match days, and social events. 

The Rio Tinto Volunteer of the Year Program aims to shine a well-deserved spotlight on these exceptional individuals. 

This recognition program not only acknowledges their hard work but also inspires others to follow them, strengthening the volunteering culture that propels community sport forward.

 Head of Club Development and Volunteers, Corey Ranger was thrilled when nominations tipped over 1000.
