Mundaring Primary School and Dongara District High School will be running out in new football jumpers this year after winning their respective categories of the 2022 Design a Jumper Competition.
A significant number of high-quality entries were received from all over Western Australia this year.
The winning schools in the metropolitan and regional categories have been presented with a full set of new football jumpers in their winning designs.
West Australian Football Commission Schools Specialist Regan Atkinson thanked Burley Sekem for their continued support of the competition.
“The promotion has been very popular with schools for many years now and it continues to grow.
It is a great way for children in the classroom to link with Australian Football, while providing students an opportunity to showcase their artistic side,” Atkinson said.
The Mundaring Primary School jumper was designed by Year 6 student Agatha Croxford, whose design was inspired by what she saw outside her classroom window.
Agatha decided to use flora commonly seen around Mundaring as one of the features of her jumper, a move which proved popular with the judges.
The Dongara District High School jumper is the work of Year 6 Isla Goedecke, who chose blue to represent oceans and rivers, with the addition of a crayfish to acknowledge the marine delicacy found in the region.
The Design a Jumper Competition is back again for 2023, and students are encouraged to take part, just as Agatha and Isla did.
