WAFC TEAMS UP WITH FAIR GAME TO HELP KIDS CONNECT WITH SPORTMonday, December 5, 2022 - 3:20 PM

The West Australian Football Commission is supporting Fair Game in a bid to improve participation and physical activity across the state.

Fair Game is an organisation that provides pre-loved sports equipment to under privileged participants or communities in WA.

It aims to reduce the risk of lifestyle related disease, build social cohesion, and improve mental well-being.

Troy Kirkham, Executive Manager Game Development and Community Football at the West Australian Football Commission, is a strong advocate of the program.

“We are looking to help connect some of our clubs and families to the organisation.

As a state body if we are running a program that caters for kids who may not have the right gear or may not choose to participate because they don’t have the right gear, then we can access the equipment free of charge and then pass it on to a participant.

It’s a great organisation that helps some of our most disadvantaged families and communities,” Kirkham said.

The WAFC is collecting a range of sporting equipment including footballs, boots, bats, backpacks, balls, and racquets, which will be collected by Fair Game and distributed to those in need.
