The results of the election for a Commissioner of the West Australian Football Commission were endorsed last night, Thursday 1 December 2022, at a meeting of WA Football stakeholders.
Current Commissioner Amber Banfield was reappointed for three years.
WAFC Chair Hon Wayne Martin AC KC congratulated Mrs Banfield on her reappointment and thanked the voting members for their support throughout the process.
“The WAFC looks forward to continuing to work with Mrs Banfield for a further three years, as we embark on delivering the 2023-2025 WAFC Strategy for the benefit of WA football," he said.
“I would like to acknowledge and thank those who nominated for this election, the Commission was fortunate to have again a high calibre of individuals nominate and I wish all candidates all the best for the future.”
Amber Banfield’s second term as a WAFC Commissioner will commence on January 1, 2023.

Amber currently serves on various company Boards relating to mining, new energy, infrastructure, engineering, project delivery and community. Her governance responsibilities extend to chairing and supporting technical, audit & risk, remuneration, commercial and sustainability committees. For over 20 years, Amber held various roles at Worley, supporting the Company’s significant transformation into the largest energy and resources service provider across 50 countries globally. As a mother of four, Amber is actively involved in community football in various voluntary positions, which has allowed her to develop a deep understanding of the complexities and requirements of the game at a grassroots level.
