Quick Fire Q&A with Ed AllanTuesday, November 22, 2022 - 11:00 AM - by Mark Readings

A back stress fracture threatened to de-rail the year of Claremont teenager Ed Allan, but he enters next week’s NAB AFL Draft as a strong contender to be selected.

The son of Hawthorn Premiership player and inaugural Fremantle Dockers Captain Ben Allan, Ed recovered from his injury to play five games for Claremont’s Colts side.

The 194-centimetre midfielder caught the eye of club recruiters at the NAB AFL National Combine.

Allan produced the best run in the 20-metre sprint and finished fifth in the agility test.

We spent some time with Allan, discussing the prospect of following his father into the AFL, the prospect of leaving WA, and Ed’s life away from footy.
